Nigeria's Senate Summons Aviation Minister And Others Over Poor Flight Operations

The Senate on Wednesday summoned the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace, Festus Keyamo and the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Captain Chris Najomo, over poor flight operations in the country.
Airline operators and other relevant stakeholders in the aviation industry were also summoned over incessant delayed and cancelled flights in the country.

Adopting a motion to that effect sponsored by Senator AbdulFatai Buhari (APC Oyo North) during plenary, the Red Chamber particularly charged its Committee on Aviation to unravel the circumstances behind the incessant flight delays and cancellations with a view to finding lasting solutions to the problem.

  2. It's about time. The way flights are delayed is annoying. I once had a flight that was delayed from 8:45am, till 12pm, then 3pm, then 6pm. Omo, we finally took off around 9pm. They didn't even offer us water.

    1. Most of them have a small fleet so they have to wait for the plane to come from where it is coming from to prepare for the next flight.

The lack of customer service is even more annoying. A flight delayed for 12 hours and not even water, lunch or even tea and a snack. Just small showing of care and value of customers to ease the annoyance. It’s not a hour or two, but 12 whole hours and no proper treatment. That’s why when I hear of some companies going out of business I don’t even look or care, because I know how they treated clients like shyt when they were at the height of their success. Even some of the employees I don’t care about their job loss because they spoke to ppl anyhow and acted like they were gods. Mtsscchhwww

  3. Ive always maintained that Keyamo is not thr best fit for this role.
How can a lawyer be placed in an important sector like Aviation?
The high cost of flight travels, the lack of oversight, the constant delays and poor service is just too much.
Keyamo should resign and allow a competent person to handle this sector.

  4. They can’t do anything about it cos they’re not providing what they should provide to the airlines.Long and short is that they don’t have the mouth to talk/ position to caution the airlines
