Nigeria's Aviation Sector Reportedly Conclude Plans For Mobile Court At Airports

Nigerias aviation sector has reportedly concluded plans to establish mobile courts at airports to try unruly passengers.
It is reported that some passengers protest against flight delays or cancellations sometimes resort to physical attacks on airline and airport workers or disrupt facilities at the airports.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) have frowned against the attitude.
Also as part of measures to address incidents of flight disruptions especially at airports without 24-hour operation, authorities have agreed to extend airport operational hours to 10 pm at sunset airports

The sunset airports are those operating between the hours of 7 a.m and 7 p.m due to absence of night flying facilities.

It is reported that most times when there are delays at the destination airports especially from Lagos and Abuja, most airports without 24 hour operation usually suffer cancellation with passengers getting agitated.
In the communique at the end of the meeting signed by the NCAA Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mr. Michael Achimugu, stakeholders condemned the rising incidents of unruly behaviours by passengers who sometimes beat up airline staff over flight delays or cancellations.

It was agreed that sensitisation campaigns against unruly passenger behaviour would be jointly conducted by NCAA and FAAN, with a public statement to be issued.

  2. I agree with this. Some Nigerians are so indisciplined that it is even embarrassing. Even after several announcements to turn off mobile phones when the plane is abt to take off, many of them, even adults, some are even senior citizens, they wud still be using their fones. Putting all of us in danger. Atleast what would it cost to respect rules and respect other passengers?? This is just one form of indiscipline.

  3. I found this so funny. Nigeria is innovating at different levels. Arrested, tried and sentenced at the airport, I can’t wait to see this. They should have a reality tv show too and make money for airport improvements.

  4. Nigeria Aviation sector should make laws to compensate passengers on flight delays and cancellations in order to avoid the attacks on airline workers. The law will also ensure the airline operators are efficient in order to stop loosing money to compensations. Passengers should be well informed and educated on their rights to avoid the attacks. This is what is done in the western world. When will Nigeria government learn to make laws and implement these laws for the good of its citizens? When will they put their citizens first and protect the interest of its citizens? When will all these incompetence and corruption end? You all travel abroad and you know what is obtainable but you’ll never replicate it in your country for it yo develop like the western world. Nigeria’s biggest problem is bad and wicked government in all the arms of government. God please raise good men and women to take over Nigeria’s government for the good of the suffering and poor masses.
