At least let them save a life first
Then whilst in the hospital, investigation can be going on.

  3. A bit of a refresher.... Under Obasanjo, the same directive was given. The last national assembly even passed a law mandating that the need for a police report before gunshot victims are attended to was impractical and be discontinued. A young had even taken the police to court 5 years ago and the court pronounced that the police were stepping out of their constitutional mandate by demanding hospitals ask for police reports. But yet this matter persists.

Instead of the needles theatrics that each successive administration engages in, why are the Nigerian Medical Association and the Association of Nurses and Midwives not carried along and mandated to inform their members?

The National Orientation Agency can stop being useless for once and begin sensitising Nigerians.

    1. Struggling to get your logic, so these associations are not in Nigeria and are not seeing this news. You insinuate that government needs to go beg them to comply

    2. I am saying government needs to force them to comply.

  4. That's a good idea,a least they save life first before other investigations beacause the person may just be a victim of stray bullet.

  5. This directive has been given ever since. Obasanjo gave the same order but will they listen? Any hospital found guilty of this, should be closed. As simple as that.

  6. Prompt treatment of gunshot is important to prevent complications such as, hypovolemic shock, infection, nerves damage and even death.
So treatment before police report is the best.

  7. They won't comply. A lot of lives could have been saved, if they had gone ahead to treat the victims.

  9. Great job👍 but they should also extend their hand to pregnant women who needs C.S to birth their babies but do not have the funds to embark on this journey, which may lead to ldeath if not urgently and properly handled.

  10. I hope they will comply. A lot of people died because of not getting report from the police.

  12. These directives needs to be enforced. Enough of too much talks that they don't yield to.

  13. The solution to non compliance of directives, rules, policies is sanctions. Sanction erring members, companies, staff. If this is in place and duly followed people will comply by force.

  14. They need to start with making sure that health insurance is available to everyone.

  15. They should be educating the police. Who wants police wahala?

  17. I hope they comply. That was how my husband almost died after he got shot in Ikot Ekpene when he went to bury his father. Losing blood after driving up and down looking for clinics to take him in.
