Akwa Ibom State Police Command has confirmed that an abducted lawyer and his niece have been rescued from their kidnappers’ den by the operatives. A trending video clip indicates that the victims were rescued when operatives of the command stormed an underground tunnel where the victims were held hostage.


The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) says it has commenced an investigation into a serious incident involving a Fly Bird HS 125 aircraft with registration number 5NKAL. The aircraft, operating a flight from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja (DNAA), to Kotoka International Airport, Accra (DGAA), experienced technical difficulties during its flight on December 6, 2024.

 The naira appreciated by N137.69 against the United States dollar within a week, following the introduction of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s new foreign exchange platform. Data obtained from the CBN’s website on Sunday showed that the closing exchange rate, which was N1672.69 per dollar on Friday, November 29, 2024, rose to N1,535/$ at the end of the week on Friday, December 6, 2024, representing an 8.24 per cent gain.

Three Nigerians have been arrested in Delhi and face a minimum of three years imprisonment for allegedly defrauding an Indian woman of over Rs 2.62 lakh. A report by The Times of India on Saturday stated that the cybercrime police apprehended Lezhu John, Gibril Mohammed, and Egboola Ekena in connection with a case involving the alleged defrauding of an Indian woman.

 Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have arrested a building engineer, Egwuh Inya suspected to be a drug trafficker. A statement on Sunday by the NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, said the 42-year-old Inya was arrested on December 2 at the Okeyson Motor Park, Enugu, when he showed up to collect three units of pressure machines containing parcels of Loud, a synthetic strain of cannabis, weighing 7.40 kilograms.

 The Gombe State Police Command said it had arrested some suspects in connection with the death of one person following a clash between some youths and Fulani herders in the Lano Village, Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area of the state on Saturday. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Buhari Abdullahi, disclosed this on Sunday.

Troops of the Joint Task Force South-East Operation UDO KA, have cleared the camps of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate, the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Imo, Enugu and Ebonyi states. This is contained in a statement issued in Umuahia by the Spokesman for the task force, Lt.-Col. Jonah Unuakhalu, and made available to newsmen on Sunday.

Former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has said that President Bola Tinubu’s travels to foreign countries have not been wasteful as with previous Nigerian presidents.
According to him, Tinubu’s foreign travels are evidently making a difference.

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have unleashed an attack on Kakin Dawa village, a district in Gidan Goga, Maradun Local Government Area, Zamfara State.
The hoodlums abducted over 50 women and children.
According to a community member, the gunmen stormed the village at about 1:30 am on Sunday with sophisticated weapons, moving house to house.
The kidnapped victims included young girls and married women.

  2. Saw the video clips of the lawyer and niece and how they were rescued . Thank God for their lives.
    Things are taking shape things are taking shape . Looking around it still feels like a far cry from reality.
