It's my favorite month of the year. Also my favorite time of the year!!!!!!
Where I wan start from sef. The cold. The holidays. The 'Party Feel'. The travellings and family Reunions. The plenty food and drinks. The meat 😍. The funfair and carnivals. Absolute fun of a month!
But most importantly, it is the season we (Christians), mark the birth of our glorious Savior.
It is my sincere prayer, that we will all witness the end of this month safely. I also pray safety for all travelling this season. Next year when we mark register by the grace of God, all of us go complete. 🙏

BUILD AN ALTAR
ReplyDelete'He built an altar to the Lord.' Genesis 12:7 NKJV
After the flood, the first thing Noah did was build an altar to the Lord. Noah had an altar before he had a home. Everywhere Abraham went, he built an altar.
Why build an altar?
(1) An altar is a place of prayer. The Bible says that Abraham returned 'to the place of the altar which he had made...And there Abram called on the name of the Lord' (Genesis 13:4 NKJV).
(2) An altar is a place of sacrifice. 'Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar' (Genesis 22:9 NKJV). Did God want Abraham to slay Isaac? No, God just wanted to know, 'Is there anything I could ask of you that you would be unwilling to give, or anything on earth you love more than me?' God will not ask you for what you don't have, but he will often ask you for something you would like to keep. Sacrificial giving conquers the spirit of greed, fear of lack and a focus on self-centred living.
(3) An altar is a place of worship. 'You shall make an altar to burn incense on' (Exodus 30:1 NKJV). As the incense melted and the smoke rose, it represented the worship of God. Worship is an act of intimacy; it's the giving of your heart, your love, your praise, and thanksgiving to God. The Bible describes it as 'a sweet-smelling aroma' (Ephesians 5:2 NKJV).
So, 'build an altar' - somewhere to pray to, sacrificially give to and worship Jesus.

ReplyDeleteLet me start this post by congratulating and welcoming you into motherhood, the only role you play from when you conceive till your last breath, I’m not kidding, parenting is tough but motherhood is tougher. To ease your affairs here are things that has helped me in the last decade of being a Mom and thought to share
Always ask for help : Don’t reject help, if there’s anything that is not clear about motherhood, parenting, nurturing a child, please ask people who’s been there, ask your mum, ask your mom in law, ask your aunties, ask your nurses, ask, don’t be quiet, you’d always learn from people’s experiences good or bad.
Don’t raise or nurture your child(ren) using another person’s yardstick: e.g, your friends baby started taking pap at 3months and your child should do same, no two children are the same even if they are born from the same womb or on the same day, don’t raise your child with another child’s manual, that’s the uniqueness of nursing
Find time to rest : Oh, pleaseeeeeee don’t get burn out by your new role, leave your baby with your husband and take a nap, leave the child with your mom and rest. A healthy mum is an healthy child, please find time albeit little to rest and rejuvenate
Nurture yourself as you’re nurturing your child : motherhood will slow you down a bit i promise you, there’s no shortcuts to that but don’t let that stop you from going after your goals. If 2 years is your plan for nursing your baby, while you’re home nursing, do something with your time, learn a course online, start an online business, do something with your time, at the end of the two years you won’t feel left out, you won’t have a regret, please build yourself as a mum
Find a community : Find a community of like minded parents like you, it may not be a large one, could you 3 or 4 of you who enjoy each other’s company and unburden your hearts, pray together and refuel one another, this brings me to the next point
Pray!!!!! God! Pray o, pray for yourself, pray for your spouse, pray for your children, pray for their now, pray for their future, pray into their adulthood, pray for ease. Most of us are a result of our parents prayers, pray for your child(ren) too. Let them feel the impact
Teach your children the way of the Lord : Please if you’re a Christian, teach your children how to pray and how to read the Bible, take them to church, let them take turns to pray, you won’t be everywhere with them but that culture will stay with them forever
This is optional but if you can space of the season your children, it will give you space to breath and plan your life well because take away financial responsibilities, mental and emotional responsibility is another important factor to consider in parenting. And as a woman we’re the one at the receiving end, so if you can, after the first two, breathe
Cut yourself some slack, forgive yourself if you make mistakes in this journey, you aren’t going to be perfect just improve
If you have PND (Postnatal Depression) as a new mom, seek therapy, please seek help from professionals not from people who would tell you it’s normal, you need your mental health intact to raise a wholesome child
I hope this helps a mum out there. All the best from your fellow mom.

DeleteMan City was awful yesterday. Played as if they just gained promoted to Premier League. I personally noticed since this poor run of form that the players now play like Maguire of Man U. Too many touches to give the ball to a team mate 2 maters apart. What's happening at City is like a lit candle being touched with wet fingers. We were poor and this poor run will continue. No excuses.

DeleteCynthia, truly, fresh legs are needed. I was happy with the score line yesterday. It could have been more. Maguire might be doing better at the moment but his style of play makes his passes predictable because of too many touches. That's the way City players now play and that's sign of low confidence instead of the one touch to pass.

Good morning my darlings. I saw this story on IG. A woman was in labour for 1week. A midwife was brought in to assist her give birth. She saw her, and told her hubby that the woman needs to go to the hospital. He refused saying she gave birth to their 2 kids at home. It got bad, before she was rushed to the hospital, by then it was already late. Both woman and child died. I don't know if the story is true, but I was pissed. Like you are the one in labour, and someone is there dictating how you should give birth😡😡. Whether via vagina or CS, the important thing should be the health of both mother and child.
