The petition, which is 90 pages long and dated December 6, 2024, alleges that Farotimi violated multiple provisions of the Rules of Professional Conduct for Legal Practitioners. The allegations include making false accusations against the Supreme Court and the legal profession, participating in unlawful conduct, and engaging in disrespectful and unprofessional behavior.
The petition also claims that Farotimi's actions have brought the legal profession into disrepute and have the potential to undermine public trust in the judiciary....
Oh yeah. Thank God,man is not God.👍
ReplyDeleteWaiting for news to carry it that, you v removed his name from book of life too
ReplyDelete@King Jerry you put it succinctly! 💯%👌🏾
Delete"The petition also claims that Farotimi's actions have brought the legal profession into disrepute and have the potential to undermine public trust in the judiciary...."
DeleteThe above must be the biggest joke of the century. They must take Nigerians for fools. Lady Justice, we all know, has been in bed with Nigerian political elites. Public trust has been eroded for a long time courtesy of the Political class, the Justices themselves, SANS, and others. In a widely published report on the ICPC corruption index
between 2018 and 2020, the judiciary TOPPED the CHART. This was widely reported by Arise News, Sahara reporters etc.
Consequently, it was recently reported, that in 2023 not even the customs, police, nor the military collected more money than the Judiciary. "According to a recent survey conducted and published by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Nigeria’s public officials received N721 billion in cash bribes in 2023, and judges topped the list of the recipients" (excerpt from Business Day publication of July 29, 2024 'Wow! What a country! Judges are the biggest bribe-takers in Nigeria'). But let's pretend that it's Dele Farotimi who is bringing the profession to disrupt or that what he's saying is new to the legal minds.
The last I remember, Keyamo, FFK, and Wike are all lawyers, and someone thinks they haven't brought the profession into disrepute. They still have their names on the roll. Smh!
What the Nigerian judiciary has become in the past few years should rather call for sober reflection than this mockery of a show. Though not perfect in the military era it was certainly not this terrible.
A bunch of jokers parading themselves as learned in a lawless and highly dollarized sector and society.
Blogbrity, I hope you are not insinuating that Afe Babalola, was wrong in following up with the defamation? Farotimi is a Lawyer and he should be made to pay for the the defamation without evidence. He claims to be a mad man, let him stay where mad men belongs!
ReplyDelete@08:47 made to pay for a case that is still in court? How do you know Dele Farotimi has no evidence?

ReplyDeleteTypical response of those people, did you even read the full story to see the grounds of the request?
DeleteThis Afe must be a very vindictive person, tufiakwa. It's good this whole thing is playing out, because I was over rating him
ReplyDeleteVery rubbish talk. Some of you get very angry when stuff is said about ordinary Peter Obi.
DeleteHow many of you will laugh it off if anyone makes damning allegations about your dad. This baba is 95 years for Gods sake.
For the pocket lawyers saying what if he has evidence, what evidence will you present in court to prove that the entire judiciary is corrupt?
Baba Afe lol... it is well sir, if God be for us who can be against us.
ReplyDeleteAfe really want to deal with him. The Man is not an easy meat. Farotimii should have known this before....
ReplyDeleteHmmm, this might not end well o
