DeleteIt's not about food. The setting wasn't traditional that's why you didn't write.
DeleteI wrote several in French in Bordeaux, the copies still dey.
Dear Santa,your address (a must).
The reason you wrote, what your siblings (if any) did you hated, what you want, the promise to change if you were doing little mean things like removing food plate for neighbor's dog or hiding a pair of your senior's ear ring etc. I used to hide grater.😂
Beg santa well and go drop in a Mail box. The school will pretend to deliver it.
🎅🤶

ReplyDelete2019, a year before COVID was my best Christmas. My whole family, young and old celebrated Christmas in one house. My husband (white) pretended to be Santa and wore the costume. My brother asked the kids to write what they wanted so he can send it to Santa in North Pole.
ReplyDeleteOn Christmas day, we (adults) woke up at 5am my husband got dressed and went downstairs, we left the kitchen door opened, woke the kids up to inform them that Santa was here. They were all excited and in shock. Santa was not talking but making low pitch ho ho ho sounds and was very swift and brief.
We asked the kids to shut their eyes and make a wish, my husband took advantage of that time and went back upstairs. When they opened their eyes. We all chorused “Santa has gone”. We all went to the kitchen door which was opened to look. It was very dramatic. My husband came down and was asking what was going on that we woke him up with our noise. The kids excitedly told him that he missed the Santa (bless them). Children are so adorable.
Anyway, we were happy that we pulled that one successfully, until I overheard my little niece from Nigeria telling her father that she was pretty sure that uncle L (my husband) is the Santa. Her father just said “taa mechee onu gi there nwa” Santa came from North Pole. We all laughed.
