The affected villages, Gidan Sama and Rumtuwa, were struck around 7 am. The jet was reportedly targeting Lakurawa terrorists.
The chairman of Silame LGA, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Daftarana, described the incident as devastating.

This has been recurring in the northern part of the country. They cry out for help in curbing terrorists and bandits and when the military intervenes, they cry out out again that it is innocent people that were killed. This simply means that the terrorists live among them and the villagers have been protecting these terrorists.
