Congratulations to Ms Otanwa!!!

''Allow me to re-Introduce myself, my name is Meg Otanwa and I am a Data Scientist.
Growing up, I was quite nerdy, though my nerdiness was concealed beneath my cute chubby cheeks. I generally excelled academically—when I was good at something, I was really good at it.
My teachers often said I had a natural aptitude for the arts, particularly subjects like literature and languages. So, I ran with that. Over time, I gradually moved away from science subjects, which led me to believe I had to abandon my dream of pursuing a career in “Information Technologies”—or so I thought.
As an adult on a journey of self-discovery, I realized that I have a deeply curious mind. I love learning, making discoveries, and solving problems. My simple pleasures lie in acquiring new skills that spark my interest. That’s when my love for tech resurfaced. I found myself drawn to AI, the concept of it, and the data that powers it. Motivated by this passion, I enrolled at NVIT in Frisco, Dallas and boy, did they do a fantastic job training me!
My trainer often said, “Whoever steered you toward the arts did you a huge disservice because you’re clearly a scientist.” I’d laugh it off, not fully agreeing. But now, I see his point. Why can’t I be both a scientist and an artist? I believe I can.
My background in languages, for instance, helped me pick up coding quite quickly. Writing code felt like speaking a language designed for systems to understand. My brain interpreted every line of code I wrote as a sentence, much like how it visualizes scenes from every story I read. Debugging can be a pain, but the joy I derive from working with linear regression and creating data visualizations makes it all worthwhile.
Here’s to embracing new challenges and smashing them! π₯
Never let anyone stop you from achieving your goals.
That’s right—you can call me Meg, the Data Scientist Actor. I plan to keep doing both.
Happy Holidays!''

DeleteFirst of, congrats Fab Mum.
God bless your hustle as you break in. There's something sexy about a working class lady.
Was it C-W or D-G you waltzed in with?
And congrats Meg too.
There's a link between polygots, visual artists and data scientists. I don't joke with my color corner please.
Add Cyber security along the way since coding favored your brain neurons, nothing beats the exhilarating joy when you clean data sets, sort delimiters, make choices for visualization, pick a chart and drop eye popping reports that enable Fortune 100(?π€·π€) to budget effectively or correctly.
Go girl. Do it Nerd.
Gather here for a π€³ selfie,if you're a techie.
