DeleteWhere and when did she say this?
ReplyDeletePastor Paul and Becky Enenche, as you mentioned, have certainly been influential in guiding many people in their faith journey, particularly in the area of stewardship and giving. Their teachings often emphasize tithing as an important part of honoring God, especially in the context of faithfulness and obedience.
ReplyDeleteFrom my own point of view, the idea that missing a tithe doesn't necessarily result in spiritual failure or a "return to square one". Tithing is often framed as an act of faith and obedience, but it doesn’t mean that God's grace and love are withdrawn when someone misses it. The heart behind the giving and the personal relationship with God are what truly matter, and God’s grace covers our shortcomings.
Biblically, tithing is presented in different ways. For example, in the Old Testament, it was part of the law, but in the New Testament, the emphasis shifts more toward generous, cheerful giving. 2 Corinthians 9:7 highlights that God loves a cheerful giver, and many believe that the principle of giving in the New Testament is more about one's heart and willingness to give, rather than legalistic requirements.
I stand to be corrected.
God of mercy. My God is not a tax collector. 🙄🙄🙄
