Oh, the favouritism was so obvious. In my case, it seemed my siblings were all favoured except me.
If they do any wrong and I scold them, once mum comes back, they report and she will BEAT shege outta me for CORRECTING them.
At some point, she stopped calling me by my name and would refer to me as "Akpu". She could say, "Go and call me Akpu". Many times she told me she wasn't my mother.
Oh, my childhood experiences ehn..
And, you see all those things she (and dad) did, I still see my siblings exhibiting that nonsense. Especially the one who feels he has "arrived".
One is doing okay but regards me as nothing. Even his son, he has so trained him that, the son, doesn't regard me. No respect. No greetings. You can't correct the child. You can't say anything. Cos whatever you say, no matter how you say it, will be twisted. Some times, when you talk, the next phone call you hear is, "You need see the headache I have cos of the call I received from Dara." And then, you become a topic for gossip, mockery and laughter.
See, story plenty but I am just living my life and hoping on God for a miracle one day. And no, I don't ask for help from him.
May God help us parents to do well by our children.

After the conference, I saw how people were eager to introduce themselves and were open to connecting with one another.But amidst the introductions, there's this question that I heard over and over again: "Please what do you do?"
A lady walked up to me, smiling. She stretched her hands for a handshake and said:

I found myself stuttering to introduce myself before I could say few words.
But this made me to understand that whatever relationship you want to go into, it's important you know that people are very much interested in the VALUE you're bringing to the table.

ReplyDeleteOne of my friend left the group. I noticed and went to her inbox to ask her. If it was maybe someone not close to me, I wouldn’t have bothered but this was my close friend.
