Soldier Ant Infested Stew...

This stew was made and the stew owners went out, when they got back, they met soldier ants inside it....What could have caused this? Was it the tomatoes, the fish or the environment? or was something sinister in the stew?

    4. No need, the stew is condemned. Unless he gathered liver and ate the stew after removing the ants. I wonder how he/she even removed the ants from the pot.

  7. It's the environment. Maybe some sort of insecticide was used around, causing the ants to fall inside the pot. Like the ants on the wall or shelf. And unfortunately for the ants, and also for the owner, the pot was uncovered.
    Issa lose lose situation.

  10. I think it's the environment, if u wash plates or soup pot and pour the water outside and lives in an environment that accommodates them. They will surely visit the person.

  19. Something like this happened in our house when we were little. Ours was egusi stew. The next morning the pot was invaded by soldier ants but not these black ones but other red ones. It was a very sad experience because that was the only soup we had thst morning. The sight was disgusting that we took the pot and dropped it under the sun outside.

  21. Is the palm oil that's attracting them. If you use palm oil to cook it will attract them to your food.

  25. This is very irritating. I hate infestation / cluster of bee, worm, flies and ants that's my phobia.

Ant infestation is a common occurrence where I served during my nysc days. Oh my God. I don't know if it's the soil or something. Everywhere you turn is heaps and heaps of ants. They said where ant infestation is common, it drives away snakes. I don't know how true.

One day in the corpers' lodge, one of us woke up to find out that his room was besieged by ants. Not be small thing. Big black soldier ants. Both his stove and pot of food were completely covered with ants. I have never seen anything like that in my life. Thank God I left that place abeg

  28. It is the environment
Maybe the environment was a former refuse dump
I experienced this back then in my school hostel

  29. @Posh, I doubt that environment was a former refuse. The ant infestation wasn't just around the Corpers' lodge, it was a normal thing within the whole village. I have never experienced the kind of ant infestation I saw there. I couldn't wait to leave the place becos of it.

  31. Ant infestation sometimes can also be a spiritual attack. When I was small, we used to travel a lot to the village for Xmas. One particular Xmas in the village was hell. We will wake up every morning to see ant infestation in the kitchen and inside our pot of food. What we have never experienced before in our village home. Food on top of table gas placed on a high table. Clean tidy environment. Haaaa. It got to a point that we had to start keeping our pot of food away from the kitchen. Surprisingly, the ants will form a trail to the main house where we transferred the food. We knew it was not ordinary cos a lot of other strange things also happened during that period. Thank God for prayers. That was the first and last time we experienced ant infestation in our village home.

  33. Aba, Abia state 2005:

We (me and some friend), some in inverted comma went to see one of her friends who owns a restaurant. This friend of hers was telling us that she was not making sales at all that a lot of people have told her to use juju so she can sell her food but she refused because of a lady that did juju in her restaurant so that customers would come in as houseflies (ejiji). The juju man gave her some water to spray inside her restaurant, Instead of customers, all she saw early in the morning when she opened her shop was infestation of houseflies in strategic Conners, on her light bulb, around her saucepan, everywhere. I imagined how horrible that will be. Now this picture has brought back that memory.
