ReplyDeleteMy child will make a 1st class and I will encourage him/her to get employment in a State's civil service? I will not even agree to the Federal civil service. Also, in the cult-infested (Ogboni. Owegbe, etc) Edo State civil service?? God forbid - I hate that child then. Na my State o but I will not have anything to do with it.
ReplyDeleteI remember during Lucky Igbinedion's regime and I was to be nominated as a Commissioner - during the "pre-interview" (with the powers that be in the State - Anenih, Igbinedion snr, etc) before the main interview, after review of my Resume I was asked which of the societies I belong to. I was shocked and confused - I was expecting questions on my professional career and experience, not any social stuff. I just knew that was the end. I wouldn't have even taken up the offer if given, cos I would have been forced to join one or all of the societies, for loyalty and allegiance reasons. God forbid
