The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has offered to supply 60 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol, to the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria weekly, which translates to 240 million litres monthly. It was gathered from the association that the refinery agreed to give 60 million litres of PMS to IPMAN members weekly, depending on patronage.

Troops from the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Jalingo, Taraba State, have arrested a suspect who confessed to abducting 20 individuals and extorting N70 million in ransom. Former Nigeria President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has advocated for the appointments of new and credible leaders for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, with short tenure to prevent corruption and re-establish trust.
Obasanjo made this call during the Chinua Achebe leadership forum held at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, USA.
Speaking on ‘Leadership failure and state capture in Nigeria,’ Obasanjo described the 2023 general elections as a travesty.

The World Bank has uncovered $32 million in unaccounted funds in Nigeria’s water project.
This was disclosed in the banks’ recently released FY2024 Sanctions System Annual Report.
The report showed that the missing funds were intended to bolster water infrastructure in Nigeria but were not adequately accounted for, prompting an intervention to safeguard the project’s integrity.
“INT followed up on risks identified regarding a project in Nigeria’s water sector and flagged to operations the risk, which was associated with $32 million of unaccounted funds.”
In a move to recover the fund, the World Bank engaged with the project team, including Nigeria’s task team leader, operations manager, and financial management specialist.
As a recommendation, the Central Bank of Nigeria has asked to reimburse $22 million, while $6 million remains in the project account to cover anticipated operational expenses.
