CHRONICLE OF A MARRIED MAN

What do you have in your phone?

Phones are very innovative and useful tools in our hands. Your phone can make or mar you.
We have read stories of how some people have sensitive content in their phones which got out there and brought the owners down.
Other times some people's phones elevated them.
Can you proudly leave your phone unlocked in the hands of your partner or your child?
I say a very big YES to the above question.
I once forgot my phone in the house for some hours before coming back home for it. My wife knows my password. Some of you (male/female) would die and wake up if your phone spends 15minutes in the hands of your partner. Lol.

My children in junior secondary school once had a dedicated Android tab for their homework but after one of them broke it, I abandoned it and they now use my phone or my wife's own. The phones would be unlocked and handed to them for their homework that needs research on Google.
Sometimes, they would tell me "daddy, big Mummy sent you a WhatsApp message"
"daddy, why didn't you delete that my dancing video? you know I didn't dance well, I don't like the video, hope you did not post it on your status"
Ha!, so this girl went into my gallery, even my chats popped up while they were using my phone, what if I had nooodes in my gallery? what if I was chatting with a side chick on WhatsApp and she opens the chat and reads, sees all the noods that we exchanged, the rubbish that talked about? what if, what if...

Let's do better as parents please.

  1. My daughter too uses my phone for her homework and when she is done sometimes, she delves into other areas of the phone when I'm not with her. I have some child friendly movies in my gallery.
I make sure that the areas of my phone that I can control are clean at all times. Other areas like Facebook and YouTube, I warned her not to go there, especially that Facebook. You will be scrolling on your timeline, one nonsense will just pop up as sponsored post, people/pages that you don't even have as friends or follow.

  6. It's better to get a separate phone for kids, with kid's apps installed for them. No matter how much we think our phones are free from negatives vibes, children can even navigate far into Facebook and Instagram. You know what they say about curiosity.

    1. Exactly my thought Caren. The children of this our jet age can be so curious. No matter how clean you think the content of your phone is, some of them will still want to explore.

  12. Whatever i dont want anybody to see on my phone, I will never keep it. I dont like to be extra careful with my phone. Someone cannot hold my phone for 2sec for the fear of the unknown. Nope! Some people say they keep secrets in their phones.
My phone is not my secrets .

  14. It was because my friend's husband gave his phone to his son, that's how she knew he was cheating.

She has all their conversations but he doesn't know.

The good thing is that they are moslems. Have you noticed that this 4 wives thing is gradually disappearing among them?

  15. This is why marriages go stale. So because I have children I will now stop enjoying adult life? First of all if you're not old enough to have your own device then there's nothing you're doing using my phone unsupervised. I will save, send and receive all sorts because being a parent shouldn't be a death sentence for your life
