AGN President Emeka Rollas Says Guild Doesn't Have The Right To Sue Adanma Luke Over Junior Popes Death

Actor Emeka Rollas, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria has disclosed that the Guild cannot sue Actress and Producer, Adanma Luke over Actor Junior Pope's death.

During a recent interview with Arise TV, he said

"Update on Junior Pope, Remember I was here and I said we were about to sue.
In the course of interacting with our legal adviser, he said from the contract Junior Pope signed with the Producer, the AGN didn't have the jurisdiction to sue, either the family or the wife should sue the producer
From the structure we are creating starting from the global status, were going to begin to licence actors cause we found out also that even Junior Pope at the time of the incident was not a due paying member of the guild, he was just an actor who is big and has not paid dues in the last one year before.

If you talk about getting benefits, you must have to be financially up to date to get benefits so if we begin to upgrade and say look, you can be acting in Nigeria but you must have licence to practice and that licence you are given means you're eligible to get all the things you need to get because you have a license because what we've found out is that every other person walking down the street as a result of unemployment goes into the industry as an Actor, go to one state and register and says am an Actor and tomorrow you come to the guild for a one off payment you made like two years ago and begin to drag the name of the guild so we want to upgrade and unionize so that we can work as a labour union, so that we can confront these organizations who come to rip us off because in an organization like this, the actor and the producer are not supposed to belong to the same association because the Producer is an employer while the Actor is an employee".
