INSIDE THE MIND OF A WOMAN GOING THROUGH MOTHERHOOD
I was a parentified first child, and I grew up very fast so I could help raise my siblings. A lot was always expected from me, and being a pastors kid didn’t help. I was always expected to be prim and proper and all.
I bore the weight of this high expectations most of my life, let’s say till few years ago.
I was a people pleaser and a peacemaker, I hated confrontations and would rather be discomforted rather than make someone else unhappy.
I started my journey to recovery a few years ago, and since my birthday in June, I have been connecting more with my inner child, devoid of people pleasing and doing me more.
Now, having experienced being a parentified child. I am trying to be careful with my firstborn, as much as I want him to be more disciplined and take up more age appropriate responsibilities, I also don’t want to do too much.
I don’t want him to be parentified and make him grow up too fast. I really don’t have it figured out yet because I feel there is a thing line between parentification and expecting more from him.
I want him to grow at his own pace, and every time, I get frustrated that he is not doing as much as I expect. I remind myself how old he is, and that I shouldn't compare his abilities with what I could do at his age. also remind myself about how I feel about the weight of the expectations I had to bear.
I am winging it a day at a time and trusting God to give me the wisdom to nurture the destinies he has placed in my hands.

I was just laughing as I passed. Dem don chop belleful nau, why won't they fight.
I noticed one thing, a woman will fight a woman and call her ashewo. A man will fight a woman and call her ashewo. The word sef no com carry weight again.
Reminds me of one story shared by a bv many years ago, where a man and his wife were quarrelling, the man called his wife ashewo, the woman in turn called him a thief.

This past weeks has been very stressful for me,my dad was on admission in the hospital but thank God has been discharged. Apparently, once you have someone's contact, Meta brings you the profile as 'People you may know'.
I felt compromised I won't lie, I don't even know this chic, what if there are things I'm trying to hide?
To say I was shocked when she told me was an understatement. Even though she expressed interest in my services that she saw on my profile, I felt really uncomfortable.
The world is now a global village. This is why we should be careful of what we post on social media, especially Facebook and others that have our full details. I see some people post rubbish with their full bio on Facebook or Instagram and I shake my head. The future is pregnant.
