I have been a victim of someone wicked recording our convo so i will share what i noted..
--The person will keep acting surprised to encourage you to talk more..
-- They wont say much but will invest time asking you questions and pretending they dont believe you to make you talk more...
--If you stop talking there is silence...
--Look out for that funny sound
--If the call cuts, they call you back and start from where the last convo ended.
-- They refuse to change topic and if they do change topic, they return to the same convo cos they are recording you...

ReplyDeleteThis is why most big guys now do WhatsApp calls. I don't think that one can be recorded or bugged.

They use a second phone,switch on the recording APP and then use it manually to record the calls you are having with them on WhatsApp..
DeleteSo that beats the end to end encryption on WhatsApp,and for the pics you send with "View once" option;they use a second phone to snap it again before leaving that page.
So whatever you tell anyone;say only facts and what means nothing to you.

Too much stress,Instead of worrying about being recorded:

If you can't keep your own secret;why blame another for not helping you keep it?
b)If you have to talk,Speak facts and less about yourself or things happening in your life..
c)Discussion should be more about the person calling you,then when the question comes to you;make your answers one liners without any details..
d)Use less of voice notes,more of typing..
e)If your mouth itches you so bad that you want to talk to others about your problem,get a mirror and talk to yourself,you would feel more relieved;and if that won't work,enter beer parlour or club(because of music interference where recordings can't be clear)and talk to a total stranger or someone,you all eat/drink,shake hands and part ways..
Life is too stressful already to be looking over your shoulders.

I digress ,she went back to same topic
Then I stared hearing beep beep sound
I checked my phone I had no incoming call
If she had incoming call I wouldn’t hear it
So what was this beep beep
It occurred to me I was recorded
Well na her loss because from beginning I told her that that topic I don’t discuss it
She pressed and pressed I said I don’t discuss it
I went ahead to give her gist about something totally unrelated we said our goodbyes
But my heart stopped
I thanked God for delivering me
But that relationship has comma till Jesus comes

Yes, thanks for this. I guess public ppl have to watch themselves more as they have a lot to lose and never know who to trust. For phone calls I talk to the same 5-7 ppl, there is not much variation in who I converse with and these ppl are my day ones. But I will keep these tips in the back of my mind.

DeleteOne of my useless friend in UK who has never done anything for me since she travelled out but anytime she calls me she would want me to tell her everything happening in the life of my siblings and I while she kept mute about her wayward sisters gallivanting all ogun/Lagos state. Oloriburuku somebody. I pray she calls and me ask me about my family again I will give something she won't see coming.
