He did what he could to make me happy. There were days where he'd stop by just to drop off stuff he got for me on his way back from work. According to him, he saw it, and thought I'd like it. He knew I loved communicating, and he did that, waaaay more than I expected. His text was ALWAYS the first message I got everyday. Too bad it didn't work out ☹️

DeleteSome of these signs made me feel he was the one.
He waited till I wanted sex,
We prayed together, even read devotionals back then.
I knew his salary.
Before he got a car,if he was travelling outside his base, he would send the bus description and plate number.
I formed his companys name even made me a director
He would buy whatever he feels I will like and bring it along whenever he was coming to my base.
I was placed on allowance.
His friends and family members are not allowed to disrespect me.
He was so proud of him
He would send me messages first thing in the morning and it got to a point the difference in our messages is usually between one minute apart meaning we woke up to send message at almost the same time .
And whenever we had issues, he always wants us to end it on time and that usually comes with a beautiful gift.
He loved my parents and family members.
When things picked up and I want to visit ,he would never allow me travel by road but through the air.
He calls me the mother of my unborn children even before marriage plans came.
He treated his family,friends and co worker well.

DeleteFew months after wedding brother just changed, although he has apologized and whenever talk reach there he always apologize again.
We have both moved on and coparenting peacefully, no conflict because of our son.
He would say he wasn't a good husband but will try all his best to be a good dad.

ReplyDeleteWhen I started dating my husband, the first day he appeared in my house, he saw my mother and lie face-flat. Even though it is alien in his culture, he knew we as Yorubas are big on prostrating, (generally Respect).
He was also free, jovial and chatty which she thoroughly liked.
Immediately he left, my mum called me and ask 'Who is that and what's your plan'?
I got casual but she got serious and said, "Don't miss that guy", even though my father decline at first.
8 years down the line I bless God I took that advise. Sometimes our mothers can speak in form of our guardian angel.🤗
My Mum is late but till she joined her maker, she was my hubby fan 100% and him, her.

ReplyDeleteI remember first week in January 2016, I just got back to Lagos from home,(my internship year and I was living with a family member in Yaba) and we were chatting on phone, told him in passing that night I felt like eating fried rice but couldn't cook because the house was empty, the family I was staying with had gone to Ikorodu to celebrate Christmas and New year so it was just me in an empty house, next thing I knew, he called me on phone and told me he's outside my house (this was around 10pm), I thought he was kidding but stepped out all the same, was shocked to see his car parked right on the street, he came out with a very big warmer of fried rice and chicken (he was staying in Lekki with his brother and his brothers wife had made a feast during the day so there was still a lot of food to be stored up.
That single act touched me to my marrow, it felt so sweet that he will inconvenience himself that late in the night just to make me happy in spite of the fact that he had to wake up early the next day to face Lagos traffic all the way to work, it was like a pivotal moment for me.
I no dey play with that guy matter.

ReplyDeleteWhen we were having difficulty with fertility, despite test results showing he was okay and I had hormonal imbalance, when his parents started disturbing him he went to have a meeting with them and told them point blank that he is the one with low sperm count. Since then they started caring and praying for us. And God answered us in the 8th year.
He is the kindest man I know. He is a provider and a protector.

I kept refusing insisting he comes say his Mind. One fateful day in Ss2 we were about starting Maths exam and i couldn't find My pen had to run to the next to ask for pen. This guy heard and went out of the school premises to get a pen. Came to My class and drop the pen on My table without saying a word. That singiular act changed My heart towards him. We dated till i gained admission before him and things went south. Ooh, how he cried when i told him was getting married. That year🥲

DeleteWhen we started dating, he used to fly in every two to three months to come visit me. Then he was the one earning more than me: so one day he booked a vacation to Mauritius and Seychelles to surprise me but then I couldn’t fly with him because I just had my resident permit under a company and was working during that period, he took it like a champ and I told him to go on the vacation alone and send me pictures, normal guy will be so pissed for spending flight, hotel for two money and I couldn’t make it. I thought ok; that’s gonna be the end of our getting to know each other… but fast forward he video called me all through the vacation and today we are married for 10’years and he’s still doing it all for me. Lest I mention I’m earning almost the same as he is. I don’t even touch a thing cuz of work schedule, he makes it all and goes grocery shopping and even though we see each other everyday in the morning we still talk on the phone during work breaks lol 🥺🥺.
