Rapper Falz Responds To Alleged Defamatory Remarks Against Him By Very Dark Man

Rapper Falz is not letting the matter go easily....He says VDM must defend himself in court....
Looks like this risky matter aint ending anytime soon.
Anyway thank God that Mr VDM has enough money to hire the best SAN in Nigeria to defend himself....

Rapper Falz was a recent guest at the Afrobeats Podcast, and there he poured out his heart regarding the defamation case against Social Media Critic, Very Dark Man, who alleged that he and his father, Femi Falana assisted Bobrisky in dropping money laundering charges.

When asked what he thinks about VDM's activism, Falz said;

"Ideally, I would have said I don't wanna talk about it and also because there's been some misreporting going on.
I don't know much about VDM's Activism, prior to the first video where he mentioned me and my Dad, I hadn't seen much of him.
What I remember seeing was people that didn't have NAFDAC and we're selling products, when I saw the video, I was like this person seems to be doing right and in a good course but asides that, I haven't seen much of his work.
Now, this person, one day, thought it wise to turn on his ring light, Seat down and air vile statements, insinuations, and innuendos, alleged that myself and my Dad, connived with some certain individuals to manipulate justice and bribe the EFCC and that the reason I've done this is cause I have a homos#xual relationship with Bobrisky, going further to say that my posture as an activist is false.

These are absolutely horrible things to say; absolutely no proof. Why would he just come and alleged all these things with absolutely nothing to support it and that is why I advise Nigerians to be a lot more careful about jumping into conclusions, let's look at things a bit more objectively, somebody coming up and alleging something shouldn't be the basics of coming to conclusions.
Via my counsel, I wrote to the person that he's alleging and the person has denied that absolutely no money was paid to me or my Dad, all these things are false basically, so now he has to defend himself cause he who alleged must prove.I've gone to court for defamation of character and the court order a sum of N500million naira to be paid.

The video I speak of is still very much on his page, he has not taken them down but the ruling that the court gave was take this down and desist from any further defamatory remarks pending the determination of this substantive suit; that was what was decided upon, ofcourse in my defamation suit, am gonna ask for damages because that is the only option available in a civil suit.

They want to peddle the narrative that we as a family want to oppress this guy because we have the legal muscle, I no dey find trouble, I dey my dey, you set your ring light, begin dey talk all these nonsense about me and you expect me to be calm?.
I called Seun Kuti and he must have reached out to the guy and he called me.On the phone, this guy was instantly defensive, he said to me without mixing words;'shebi you are a lawyer, go to court'.

In my opinion, this person wanted the litigation. Now what he thinks that does for him, I do not know, I don't know if he thinks that would posture him as some sort of hero but he clearly wanted the litigation cause as soon as he posted what he posted, I sent him a notification telling him that what he posted was a lot of bollocks, I need you to take it down and offer an apology.
He never apologized to me, he has been dodging mentioning my name ever since I wrote to him. They want to peddle the narrative that am an oppressor, go to my comment session now, that's why when people make statements like Nigerians deserve the leaders they get, I don't wanna queue in because nobody truly deserves the amount of penury that we go through but when you don't take your time to carefully access scenarios, and you jump on cheap manipulation tactics and you them spoon negativity at somebody for absolutely no just cause, ofcourse people are gonna say stuffs like that.

The Audio he sent has been denied by the person he's alleging was the author and he who alleged must prove.
I imagine his lawyer would have explained these things to him, since he really wants a litigation, the rest of the explanation would be done in Court.

    2. Glancing at most of the comments, it's unfortunate that the Falanas wasted do many years fighting for Nigerians who are reaping the fruits of their chosen values and who have earned their situation.

Not everyone is being oppressed. Most are desperate to be entertained and where the is no fodder, they are happy to volunteer their futures and those of their children, continually victimising those who are fighting the oppressors that treat them the way they treat themselves and others.
The Falanas have now become to a visionless mob of non achievers, a wahala, a season film etc

Falanas, gbo tire. Tara eni la n gbo. These jokers will never be worth it

  7. Very dark man needs to be taught a lesson, there is nothing wrong in activism or fighting a just cause, but his approach is very wrong; he is very disrespectful and arrogant.

Pride is making him not to take the post down, he will surely defend himself in court.

No be every thing be juju ooo..

He should learn from his mentors, they don't throw allegations without proof.

    1. There is no juju in this matter. What you saw in the videos of his trip to Abuja is showmanship. People who carry real juju are those who hide it deep.

His refusal to pull down the post is ill adviced. But if I am the Judge I will ignore it till the end of the case. But I am not and few Judges will ignore. He is likely to go to jail first for contempt before the real case starts.

The Falanas should have deflected this matter.

It is said that the big man never wins a fight with a small man in the public court - if he beats the small man, he is called a bully; if he is beaten, he is called a buff..n.

Well, let the courts decide and let the law truly develop on this social media arena in Nigeria

    2. @Anon, What makes you think his journey to Abuja with a "Sangoma" is showmanship?

Do you live with him? he made an open show of it and that means he believed in it.

Even after been warned, should the Falanas deflect the situation?
Sometimes a phrase does not imply that reality will not appear; this is what is making his head grow larger.

      The court will definitely decide.

"It is said that the big man never wins a fight with a small man in the * COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION* - if he beats the small man, he is called a bully; if he is beaten, he is called a buff..n.

Please see the capitals. My misstatement yesterday.

If the Falanas win at the law courts, they will recorded in the court of public opinion as Father and Son who used their legal knowledge/wealth/status to defeat a poor illiterate young brash man saying ...

If the Falanas lose at the law courts, they will be recorded in the court of public opinion as Father and Son who sought to use their legal knowledge/wealth/status to oppress or shut the mouth of a poor illiterate young brash man saying ..., but lost or were defeated by this, that, and those.

If you are a lawyer or have ever been involved in litigation, you must know that law court litigation (especially Libel cases where more tarring facts may be thrown at character) does not always go as straight as expected or planned.

How to deflect in this type of case is to simply and fully state your case in public, tell why you will not litigate, and move on.

If there is a case in court already or if one is planned, why are Falz and his Father on-air with all these explanations. Why are they not keeping their powder dry. Simple. They want to win first in the court of public opinion or want their case well understood in that court before the law court decides.

Is it also true that Falz has accepted that Mr. Idris Okuneye made the statements published by VDM. Why do interviews appear more about VDM's comments on the allegation than the falsity the allegation and its maker.

Being the learned in law of the two sides, let the Falanas cease the interviews and lt the courts decide.

  8. I thought the matter had died down not knowing that VDM refused to apologize. Well, the Falanas know what to do. Let nobody blame them if they finally deal with him legally.

  9. Falz, go all the way. The guy must get what he had coming for him. You don't go around leveling allegations on people under the guise of activism or public's interest. Let him know there is freedom of speech but freedom after speech is not sure. Selective activist isonu! Couthless human being! Very dark fool!

Small time now, he will start playing the emotional blackmail card while his cohorts will also be crying upandan the net like bush babies.

    1. You people are just angry that they gave him money. He didn’t defame falz in any way or you think it’s only Falz and his family that are lawyers in Nigeria? He obviously has his lawyers and they would’ve advised him not to apologize. What did VDM do?he only asked a question if falz was getting it from behind too. That’s still free speech as far as Nigeria is concerned.

  20. Where I stopped believing VDM is when he accused Tonto of being Genslover. Tonto never speak English finish, na Yoruba wey Glover dey use to blog, Tonto go sabi. She doesn’t socialize, has no friends, never acted in Yoruba movies, yet someone was sure she’s that blogger? I feel he just wanted Efcc to arrest & rattle Tonto by that false allegation, for vendetta sake. False should pursue this matter to a conclusive end, not after tarnishing his family’s image, built over d years. Oni yeye.
