Nigeria#s Presidency Says It Will Not Reappoint Sacked Minister Beta Edu

Nigeria's presidency has ruled out the possibility reappointing Beta Edu, former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, who was suspended on January 8, 2024 after widespread anger over an alleged N585 million scandal.

before last weeks Wednesday cabinet reshuffling, there were speculations that the suspended minister may return to the government but Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, said on Sunday that “Betta Edu is gone.” and that the president has appointed her replacement from Plateau State.

“Betta Edu is gone. Her position has been taken by someone from Plateau State. As far as this government is concerned, there is no place for her in this cabinet.
“The EFCC has not shared what they have but if you go by what the president has done, it shows that EFCC must have submitted something that actually justified that suspension,” he said in an interview with Channels TV.

    1. There's not going to be a next time. She has killed her political career. Remember it is the citizens that forced the FG to suspend her, left for APC she would have remained there. After all, she didn't eat the money alone, or did she? It's common knowledge she was used to do the dirty job. Now,when will EFCC charge her to court and recover our money?
