Nigerian Govt Announces Arrival Of Malaria Vaccines And Names Kebbi And Bayelsa As Pilot States

Nigerian Government has announced the arrival of the first batch of 846,000 doses of the R21 malaria vaccines, from the Vaccine Alliance, Gavi and through the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA Kebbi and Bayelsa States would be the first to receive the vaccines.



The vaccine was officially launched on Thursday by the Minister of Health, Ali Pate, alongside officials of the Ministry of Health, the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), and development partners.
Pate said the arrival of the vaccines was a significant milestone in the efforts of the government to eliminate malaria in the country.

  5. I have a lump in my arm from the Yellow fever vaccine I took 6 years ago, I have ran away from getting any vaccine since then

  8. Great news but the last time I took vaccine it numbed my arm and I felt an excruciating pain for over a week; that was during COVID 19 period. Now this? Omo! I'd rather do mosquito net, insecticide and mosquito repellent 🤷‍♀️

  9. I hope it's effective, Lagos mosquitoes are too terrible. I will get it I don't mind the pain at least better than treating malaria every 3months.

  11. I'll start making my contacts because I must be among the first set of people to take this vaccine. Malaria no go fit kpia me.
    For over a decade I have been making inquiries on which of the churches that heal Malaria yet no one has been able to give me the answer/ solution I seek.
    This's the best news I have seen this week though I have been looking forward to when this vaccine will arrive in Nigeria because it has been administered to children in Cameron some months back
