The Dangote Refinery which has a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, has reportedly ignored calls from oil marketers for direct lifting of its petrol. This situation has left both independent marketers and consumers in uncertainty.
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) and the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association (PETROAN) have made several attempts to engage with the Dangote Refinery, but have not received any positive response. It is believed that direct sales from the refinery could potentially reduce the current high petrol prices, which range between N950 and N1,200 per liter.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on the other hand has announced that it has stepped down from its role as the sole off-taker of Dangote’s petrol, adding to the uncertainty.
This is a comple situation and no one but Gods knows how it will play out.

It means that government is removing itself from petroleum completely. No subsidy. Dangote will finally agree but with the emergence of several other refinery like the modular, private and government refinery,, price will come down
