The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has issued a three-month ultimatum to owners of uncompleted buildings and undeveloped plots across the Federal Capital City (FCC) to immediately develop their properties or risk losing them.
FCTA explained that the move was necessitated by what it described as the rapid expansion of shanties and squatters within uncompleted buildings and undeveloped plots.


 The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said on Monday that it raided the Ilorin home of Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru (APC Kwara South), where it recovered a consignment of drugs.
The Chairman of the agency, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd), who spoke at a media briefing in Abuja, said the recent attack on the agency by Senator Ashiru was borne out of vendetta, rather than any altruistic motive or national interest.

 The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE says the importation of petroleum products is crippling its business.
The 650,000 barrels of fuel per day facility said this in a suit filed before the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking to nullify import licenses issued to the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited and five other companies for the purpose of importing refined petroleum products.

 The Nigeria Immigration Service, on Monday, named social media personality Okuneye Idris, otherwise known as Bobrisky, as a person of interest in an ongoing probe.
It also confirmed that its officers intercepted Idris at the Sème border while fleeing the country earlier in the day. The controversy surrounding Bobrisky began in April 2024 when he was sentenced to six months in prison by the Federal High Court in Lagos for naira abuse.

 Suspected cultists on Monday killed two persons at Odiokwu junction in Ula-Ehuda, Igbu Akoh-Kingdom in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State.
This came barely 24 hours after five persons were killed in Edeoha Community in Upata kingdom, also in Ahoada East LGA.

 The Chairman of the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Sunday Bisi, has urged the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, to avoid making statements that could incite political unrest in the Southwest region.
Bisi, in a statement issued on Monday, was responding to Ganduje’s remarks at a political gathering in Ondo State, where he reportedly claimed his party had a strategy to “capture” the entire Southwest.

 Nine Northern states in Nigeria were plunged into darkness on Monday as the national grid collapsed again. The President of the Nigeria Consumer Protection Network, Kunle Olubiyo, disclosed this in a statement.

. Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed three persons between Bangi and Kotonkoro road in Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State. It was gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday morning around 9:00 a.m. The bandits were said to have blocked the road, shooting at moving vehicles.

 The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) said it has not appointed any senior officer as acting Chief of Army Staff (COAS). It said such an appointment doesn’t exist within the Armed Forces.
The clarification came after reports in some online platforms and social media about the alleged demise of the COAS, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.

 The Naira yesterday appreciated to N1,715 per dollar in the parallel market from N1,725 per dollar last weekend. Data from FMDQ showed that the indicative exchange rate for NAFEM fell to N1,603.16 per dollar from N1,600.78 per dollar last Friday, indicating a N2.38 depreciation for the Naira.
