    1. Funny thing is that she might even be the one that just decided to kneel but "our people" would turn it to the family oppressing her..

Let's flip the script, post a picture here of the husband kneeling for the wives parents, and you'll see how happy "our people" would be here..

All they want to see is a man looking weak and conquered and a woman looking strong and powerful.. that's their definition of equality and feminism. That's a perfect world to them

  2. HmmmπŸ™„πŸ™„. Kneeling to serve a "king". The other time it was a pregnant woman kneeling to serve her husband (who seemed unbothered by her presence).

That was the joke between I and my elder sister when our niece married and had a good laff. Both of us are married. So we know what we were saying.

Our niece did not kneel. She only did the wedding reception drama of cutting the piece of cake on to a platter to go to feed her husband. And we laffed that the high service would not continue after that day.

How many women on this blog even serve their husbands by setting tables, etc. If you guys do not do it how many women out there do it. Una think say na una open eyes pass.
      Funny blog. Funny world.

  4. Men kneel down to propose. Anything wrong with that or must everything favour a certain gender?

    1. Lol..

      You dey mind them..
If na below 20s and early 20 babes dey talk this one, you go know say na cos attention too much and e dey enter their head hence that kind talk, you go even understand as dem dey their prime..
If na married woman dey talk am, you go know say at least she don' marry say make you sed marry your own..

But you go see single old corns in their 30s and 40s talking all these kind eye talk and you begin to wonder what happened to their senseπŸ˜‚.. but as a guy sha, wetin concern me, that's why we have fast foods and main dishes 😁..

      ........
      It's the hypocrisy for me...

Like the one that sees herself as a celeb here, whenever a man speaks nice about the effort his intentional wife is putting like the man that said here one day about how his wife calls him sir and all, na so she begin attack..

But you'll see how talking about the efforts her husbands put, how she sends him errands and all.. but make man talk say him dey send him wife errands, she go begin cry..

Na mum dey take these ones seriously sha

    2. Exactly πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ I see nothing to debate about up there.....These gender tantrums every time is exhausting...Let just reciprocate love all around one another....

    4. Man kneels to propose.
Woman kneels to feed her husband on wedding day.
Man kneels and bends the rest of his life to feed his wife.
      Woman stooped to conquer.
      Equation over-balanced.

But only the wedding day kneeling pains some or most women (sometimes even the woman who knelt).
And you say this world and all in it is not made of the woman?
You forgot God had made all things including man before God made the woman?

Or is it that some posts are raised knowingly and just for finger exercises.
And who mind sweat on them aggravate self.

It is a common practice in some Yoruba traditional weddings, where the bide will kneel down to give the husband cake or something.
It's just part of the event. It's not a big deal

  16. This is a common practice during a traditional Yoruba wedding. It's just norm, like a man kneeling to propose. A one time thing. But seriously, I see nothing wrong in treating my man as a king, if he also does the same for me. This reminds me of a Yoruba adage that says "Bi onigba ba se pe igba re, bee naa la maa ba pee". Which means the way you present yourself that is the way people will accept you. This also apply to the way you present your loved ones to others.

    1. Exactly. I have seen this at weddings countless times—traditional weddings, precisely. It doesn't mean she is going to be doing this for the rest of her life. It's not that big of a deal like it's painted. It's not even the men that demand it. It could have been the compere.

    2. Honestly it really was. It was so dehumanizing walahi with that heavy dress she walked on her knees

    3. And she probably had to continue kneeling on her wedding night. Arthritis is waiting for her somewhere.

    4. Really??? She crawled??? Nobody should ever have to crawl on their knees or bellies. Prostrate? Yes! Kneel? Yes! But crawling while at it?

  20. Nothing wrong with the picture! Well i knelt during my TM to give my husband palm wine and even knelt again to feed him cake at the reception after church wedding

This is normal practice during most weddings na, at least the ones i have seen and attended

  21. My dear, you kneeled before God and humans in this subservient position at your own wedding. Please continue to kneel after the wedding, you knew exactly from day one what this was.

    Beautiful dress and beautiful bride.

    1. Honestly,I'm gobsmocked at the degree of bickerings.
It's an East African tradition especially Tanzania and border countries. The mother in-law will courtesy to her, take the cake and hand it over to the oldest man in their family, come and hug her and raise her from the floor or she'll still kneel to go round and greet every member on the high table.

The videos are on you tube.
Many blogs have old wedding tapes where such transpired.
      Na wa.

    2. Call a spade its name. Stella do stay Oyibo land tay. She don forget what goes on back home in Africa, Nigeria, Lagos, or even in Isoko Land. Ceremonial things turned gender clubs. Hahahaha

  27. There is nothing wrong with what she did. Some of these things are done just to spice up the ceremony but inside the main marriage she may not be compelled to do so.

Those ones they do where they will use wine and cake to feed themselves at the wedding reception, how many couples feed themselves that way in their proper matrimonial home?

  28. She didn't kneel, she crawled from a distance to a table where people are gathered while a man who appears to be the horseband walked beside her carrying the cake.I wonder what that meant,I didn't like it,she wasn't even smiling while on it

    1. This is too much eyeservice if she truly walked on her knees

  29. She didn't just kneel down to feed her husband; she crawled from a distance with her husband walking to get to that point where she is in that picture! I do not know why people are comparing this to a man kneeling to propose to a lady! I know it may be their culture.. but the crawling is an eye sore and such cultures are not pleasant to behold at this age and time

    1. She knew before the wedding ceremony. She should have married from another race. Simple problems should be given simple solutions.

  30. She walked on her knees to that table? Her husband allowed that? No nah. My own man would not have allowed me to stress myself like that. It is bad.

    1. If that is what they do over there, it will be difficult for the husband to fight it. Since she knew she would do that, I believe she came prepared for it.
