Nigerias Super Eagles Interim Coach Eguavoen Quits After Draw In Rwanda

Augustine Eguavoen has stepped aside as the interim coach of the Super Eagles, OwnGoalNigeria reports.
According to Eguavoen, his “mandate was for two games”.

The technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, was brought in after attempts to hire a head coach for the national team failed.
He took charge of two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

The Eagles beat Benin 3-0 last Saturday and drew 0-0 at Rwanda on Tuesday.
Speaking at the Kigali Airport after the game, Eguavoen refused to be drawn into preparations for Nigeria’s next game against Libya.

He said: “I have been given a mandate to handle two games.
“I will want to say I am very pleased with the boys and again, thanks to the NFF leadersip and all the boys who supported me.
“It ends today. I can’t talk about Libya, because I haven’t been told about it.”

  2. He was given two matches to manage and he has done what was asked of him, it's now left for NFF to either call him back or go source for a coach

  3. My tired is tired with NFF ...what sort of arrangement is this for God sake? Why not just give this man the job instead of looking for high profile coach who will still flop at the end of the day? They will sign a foreign coach and give him the best treatment with outrageous wage but treat our local coaches anyhow ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ if no be say our government no good, this NFF supposed to be disband
