Dangote Group has dismissed reports that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL has started lifting Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, from its refinery. Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Office of Dangote Group, in a statement on Thursday, said the company is yet to finalize its deal with NNPCL.

A suspect was arrested after two vehicles travelling along the Ife/Osu Highway was attacked by armed robbers, who shot a driver and raped a female passenger. A passenger in one of the two vehicles involved, who spoke to reporters on Thursday said the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday between Ife and Osu communities in Osun State.

In a statement by NNPCL spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, the Executive Vice President of Downstream of the Company, Adedapo Segun disclosed this while speaking on TVC News’ “Journalists’ Hangout” show on Thursday,
He stressed that NNPCL was awaiting the September 15 timeline provided by the 650,000 barrels per day Lagos-based refinery.
