The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has demanded an “immediate reversal” of the pump price of petrol across the country.
NLC made this known in a post on its X page on Tuesday night.
The post reads: “We demand the immediate reversal of the latest increase in the pump of PMS across the country.”


The leadership of Deeper Life Church has distanced itself from the claim of a 60-year-old man, Obatayo Adetunji, accused of having c#rnal knowledge of a 14-year-old girl.
The suspect claimed to be a pastor in the church.
While disclosing that the suspect was not affiliated with the Deeper Life Ministry as a pastor, the church, in a statement issued by Oka Regional Overseer, Pastor Oludu David, condemned alleged rumour circulating on social media that Adetunji was a pastor in the region.
According to the church, Adetunji is neither a pastor nor a worker at Deeper Life Bible Church in Oka Region, adding that he is not a regular member of Deeper Life Bible Church in Oka Akoko but only sought financial assistance from the church in 2023.

Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have described a recent comment by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, as unacceptable and irresponsible. The PDP governors, after their meeting, had declared support for the Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara as the leader of the party in Rivers State.

 Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday led prominent politicians and other Nigerians to the funeral of the late Hajiya Aya Dada Yar’Adua, mother of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. The funeral prayer, which began around 1:50pm, was led by Sheikh Aminu Yammawa at the Katsina Township Stadium.

The Nigeria Customs Service is set to commence the trial of about 14 suspected smugglers arrested in the South West region in July, 2024. The suspects were arrested while trying to bring in unwholesome consignments into Nigeria from the Republic of Benin.

The Federal Government has said no directive was issued to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) to increase petroleum prices to N1,000. Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Oil), in a statement, on Tuesday, issued by his Special Adviser, Media and Communication, Nnemaka Okafor, said he did not direct the NNPC Ltd. or any other entity within the sector to manipulate prices.

Nigeria’s power generation rose to a three-year high of 5,313 megawatts on Monday, the Federal Ministry of Power has declared. It declared this in a statement issued by the media aide to the power minister, Bolaji Tunji, adding that electricity distributors should ensure the distribution of the generated energy.

 The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II has expressed his readiness to intervene in the Fulani crises in the country with a view to providing a permanent solution to the problems. Speaking while receiving the leadership of a Fulani group, Tapital Pulaku Njode Jam Nigeria, on Tuesday, in his palace, Sanusi said it was high time the government found a permanent solution to the Fulani crises in the country.

 Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Tuesday, ordered the remand of self-acclaimed whistleblower, Isaac Tamunobifiri, also known as PIDOM, in Kuje correctional facility. PIDOM was arraigned on Tuesday, on nine counts brought against him by the Inspector General of Police, bordering on alleged money laundering, cybercrime, and disseminating classified secret documents.

A middle-aged man, whose identity is yet to be established, was electrocuted early on Tuesday while attempting to vandalise a transformer and cables belonging to the Jos Electricity Distribution Company. The incident occurred opposite the Queens Hotel, located at Ankpa Ward in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.

Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have killed Mr Sunday Oche, the Labour Party Chairman in Igumale Ward 1 of Ado Local Government Area of Benue State.
The deceased was said to have been shot dead in an ambush while on his way from the farm in the company of five others, who escaped with serious injuries.

  2. So electricity fighting back against abuse from humans. Sorry the man died, if you're brave enough to face high voltage then anything is possible.

    I only hope they are telling the truth and that man was really not affiliated with the church. Middle-aged and senior men have become a damn nuisance and imbeciles on the planet with their ongoing sxual abuses that is already an epidemic. Sick of it!
