NAFDAC And NCTC Sign MoU To Combat Drug Abuse And Terrorism

NAFDAC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) to prevent the use of counterfeit medicines, curb drug abuse, and fight terrorism.

The MoU is part of a national effort to reduce illegal drug trade, prevent violent extremism, and manage hazardous chemicals that could be exploited by non-state actors.
The Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye highlighted the importance of the partnership in saving lives and preventing drug-related crimes. NCTC Coordinator, Major-General Adamu Garba Laka, emphasised the collaboration's role in boosting information sharing, joint operations, and intelligence cooperation to combat terrorism effectively.

This partnership underscores both Agencies' commitment to safeguarding public health, national security, and preventing the misuse of drugs and chemicals in Nigeria.
