Kogi State First Civilian Gov And His Failed Attempts To Return To Power

Abubakar Audu kept trying to win the election but kept losing and just when it seemed he was winning, something happened....Read to the end...

In 2003, Abubakar Audu contested to be governor of Kogi State but lost to the unknown Ibrahim Idris.
In 2007, he contested and lost again to the incumbent governor, Idris.
In 2008, after the Supreme Court annulled the election that brought Idris into office, there was a fresh election in which Audu contested against Idris for the third time and lost again.
In 2012, Audu contested again but lost to Idris Wada.
In 2015, Audu contested against Wada and was winning the race when he suddenly died of a heart attack on November 22, 2015, before the results were finally announced by INEC (his party won). #HistoryVille

    3. He was governor of the same State 1999-2003 so which one is near success syndrome again?

People advocating for history to be reintroduced in public education curriculum have little respect for the limited capacity of the average Nigerian's mind and what they will opt to fill it with.

    1. Yes he tried in terms of infrastructure. Ever wondered why he kept loosing after his first tenure?
It was because he owed salaries for several months. Kogi is a civil service state, imagine what people went through. Teachers were on strike for months.
Unfortunately, or fortunately, the incumbent governments were paying salaries but little to no infrastructural development, hence his reelection in 2015 that brought in the cancerous Yahaya Bello.

  4. He won with Faleke as Deputy but Faleke was denied the seat when Audi died. According to court order, they've not been sworn in yet. May his soul rest well 🙏

  7. A grossly overweight older man with a near-child-wife and leading a grueling campaign was a massive risk.
