    1. Get to St. Paul's street infront of the old English post office stump, ask the Igbo men selling electricals to show you the corridor for toys.

NB... electronic ones with working batteries should be tested before leaving.
      Be wise!

    1. Just be yourself,be confident, know about where you are going, interesting things you will do,things you look forward to and if you are going to lie, practice the lie very well because they are trained psychologist and at times it's depends on the interviewer.
Don't mention anything about doing business or working during your stay and finally seek for Gods favor.

    2. To add to what Mariam said, you'll need to establish home ties in Nigeria (strong ties) to show you'll be coming back (even if na lie). It can be a good job, business, marriage, kids etc.

  3. Yesoo I have been waiting for this day oo, thank you SDK for this platform. Please sir Martin's help me out oo, my brother bought Redmi phone for me , from China because he leaves there , how do I convert some of the writing to English, and the phone is tripping off, what could be the cause? I just tried charging it to 💯, later it tripped off on its own. My colleague is telling me that is software issues that I should give to a technician to fix it. Thank you in advance sir.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi,about three options could be the reason as to why it's tripping off..it could be:

      a) Software Update: The firmware needs to be updated to remove any malware and also update the operating system(OS)

      b) Battery issue: The battery is damaged and needs to be replaced.
Could be liquid entering it,or just spoilt.

      c) Virus: Still boils down to flashing your firmware, also it will update your software.

So first take it to a software Engineer to check it out;if it's a firmware issue;they would flash and upgrade.

But if it's not,you take it to a phone Hardware Engineer and they would check the battery and any other thing necessary, then fix it.

      Hope this helps.

  4. Those of you suing EVENING PRIMOSE OIL, please I need advice and questions from you all.

    1. Does EPO makes someone to add weight?

    2. Is it a sleeping drug and that's why it starts with evening, meaning one must use it only at evening and not during day time so as not to feel sleepy?

    3. Does it have any side effect?

    4. I read it's good for the skin, I am 43 YEAR old woman with eczema which has refused to go, it goes and comes back even after sleeping with my side face, it'll be back at that particular side I used in sleeping in my bed after treatment and I can't sleep facing up, can EPO work for my eczema?

Thanks and God bless you all.

    ReplyDelete

    1. To answer your questions

      1. I dunno about whether it makes you add weight so you can speak with a pharmacist

      2. No it's not a sleeping drug and not be taken in the evening only, the supplement derived its name from a flowering plant called Evening Primrose

      3. Every drug has side effects, again please speak with your pharmacists or read up on its contraindications.

      4. Evening Primrose Oil is a supplement so it does not cure eczema...You may have to see a dermatologist on that...

    2. God bless you for real @ Phoenix. The drugs makes me sleep as I've observed or maybe I'm not sleeping enough .I worry too much especially at the middle of the night.

    4. For your eczema, I would recommend diluted Apple cider vinegar (you can start with a ratio of 1 part ACV 2 parts water). Use the one with the mother e.g. Braggs. All the best.

    1. Steps...
      Wash and dry.
Roast till skin is a bit burnt.
      Scrape.
      Dice.
      Juice with plenty water.
Boil on high heat wit cover open for 5minutes. Set it aside.

      Then in a pot.
Fry garlic, red onions, bayleaf, thyme and small rosemary leaves(👌).
Pour tomato mix(tomapep was my best before Gino, learnt Tiger stew powder ti take over).
Fry all with boullion cube and salt for 5 minutes on low heat.

      Finally pour beetroot juice.
Let it simmer for 5 minutes then add broth from protein.(remember to fry your proteins on low heat with dry pepper, onions and curry powder, you'll use the same oil).
Stir well along with the fried proteins.

Pour washed parboiled rice. (No pre boiling please).
Turn well, then cover for 20minutes.

Open 8 holes in the now jollof and drop teaspoons of butter. Don't turn yet.
If you love sliced onions and tomatoes those 2 should be added ,now turn well before removing from fire.

Rice is out with a fantabulous strawberry color.🌸
      Bon appetit!

  7. Pls, a BV made this comment about stanbicibtc that the monies being invested is used on Halal. What does it mean please?

Which other investment carries low risk aside from fixed deposit?

    2. The Bigger/higher the risk(Capital),the bigger the reward(Profit).

Also if there is a negative;the bigger the loss too.

No business or investment is just a "Straight Line";it's vice versa.

So analyse and know your risk management level;before you venture, because if you win;you win Big! And when you lose, you lose Big!

Another lowest risk is the standard savings account,if you don't withdraw more than three times from it per month, you get almost #6000 per each one million every month.

So you see,the banks and govt are not running a charity program, hence the higher the risk for any investment, the bigger the reward,so it's up to you not to be greedy and invest your life savings.

For instance, they won’t invest ur money in a brewery or anything alcoholic, they won’t also invest in pig farming, betting and all other non shariah compliant investments.

      Delete
    4. I made that comment. It means your money is invested on clean and legitimate trades. They are not laundered, not on weapons, not on alcohol, pork, pornography etc. it's just assuring you that the source of the interest and profit is godly. Hala is an Arabic word means pure or not sinful. It's not necessarily an Islamic thing.

    6. Ms Saphire it is an Islamic thing, because in Nigeria Islam is the only religion that forbids alcohol and pork like you mentioned. And bcos muslims aint allowed to consume those, they ain’t allowed to invest in those industries too.
M saying this so that the person would be clear, if she isn’t a muslim, the halal thing might not really be attractive to her. Though it is good, even for non muslims. Like u said it means pure n not sinful, don’t forget in Christainity it is not sinful to consume alcohol or pork, so ur statement abt the halal investment not being an islamic thing is flawed.

      5000mah battery.

Beats any Samsung within that price range for now in the Nigerian market, except your budget is higher then I can recommend a Samsung model.

  10. Please my people that make pap often. How can I make the chaff after sieving to reduce. Whenever I am throwing away my chaff it used to vex me, knowing there is nothing I can use it for. I even soaked my corn for 5 days the last time but the chaff was still much.
Secondly, which spices can I add to my pap (for adults) to enhance the taste. I am already using ginger. Can I add nutmeg or tumeric or other spices. Kindly suggest.
    Thank you.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Cinnamon sticks, dry dates, cloves or tigernuts

      Delete
    2. To reduce the chaff, beg the person that grinds it to grind it very smooth, you can tell her that you don't sieve your pap((my late dad did not let us sieve his guinea corn pap, he said the chaff is very nutritious).
So they will grind it very smooth, you will get only small chaff.

      Delete
    3. To utilize your chaff,Buy and train small fowl for your commercial poultry, then sun dry the chaff and add to chicken feed for them, that way you won't lose your chaff at all.

Then when the fowl grows, you sell and recover your money with interest.

Also it's not all about how big the chaff is after sieving;what matters is you removing all the corn starch from each session you sieve, because chaff is a must,so no too vex inugo😊.

      Hope this helps.

  15. FAQ
Please house, my questions are below:
    1. What can I do to stop the beeping sound from my meter even when I have 60 units? The brand of the meter is Wellsun
    2. @Martins, to answer your questions about my intention to go into sale of male natives (A) location is Abuja and I can market to my office people …. Just that I have never done business before and I don’t have the strength to hassle people for gbese! (B) what sort of Food/Agriculture business? Kindly specify (C) in regards to the fact that I have zero experience in business, do you advise I rather invest in Stanbic IBTC investment banking? I just don’t want my money sitting in the bank without interest but I also know this current economy is not a time to do trial and error!
    3. Kindly recommend a good collagen supplement for a glowing skin, budget is 50k-60k.

    Thank you

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Wellsun wants you to add more money😊;so they can stop disturbing you.

      So to your other questions:

      a) Abuja is a good place for Native wears, you have to learn how to market your products via ads targeting and all.

Meaning you will take courses online to learn content creating, video editing, ads management,Ads and geographic targeting and all.

So many content creators offer the courses online.

Also if your target audience for any business you are opening is your "Office Colleagues" or your Family and friends only;you are getting it all wrong.
Strangers are usually your biggest client! They are the ones you should be targeting and marketing via ads and all, your colleague will buy from you but don't force your product to any, gbese won't take you far in business.

      b) Agriculture? Everything an average Nigerian eats,if you don't have farms in a secure environment to plant, then buy from those who farm and resell.

Farming and foodstuff business CAN never run out of fashion, everyday cashing out even if what you sell is Bags of Garri,Rice and Beans only in a big scale plus retail, you can also add spices for soup and stew too.

      c) Stanbic IBTC investment is good if you aren't business minded or a working class 9-5 individual;but for an average business man in Alaba or Tradefair for example;it can't give them the interest rate they look out for;so they would rather invest in their business.

Soif I'm to advise, split your money, put some in mutual bonds, money market and all, then use the other for business, but first take the courses I talked about above, there is money online if you can target your ads well to the right audience.

      Hope this helps.

  19. Please who can explain to me the difference between automatic and semi automatic washing machine.

    Single tube and twin tube...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Automatic will wash, drain, take water, rinse, spin and drain all by itself. All you need to do is load, switch it on, add your laundry products (soap etc) and give it a water source.

Semi automatic: when it's done washing, you will have to squeeze the clothes by hand and drain the water and rinse. Then transfer to the spinner by hand. It's not so bad o. The advantage of semiautomatic is if you don't have a tap supplied water source, you can pour the water in manually since they are usually top loader. Another advantage is you can reuse your soapy water. And again, they don't need professional installation.

      Delete
    2. First paragraph...
Boils down to your cash like how much you can afford.
If you don't have time to be checking up on the machine while it's at work.
If the clothes are damage free like materials won't be missed if damaged because it went in with buckles and zips.
If you can pay the electric bill.
      If you hate noise.
      Why?
      Automatics are;
      Expensive.
      Eats your electric units.
      Washes perfectly.
      Leaves damaged clothes.
      Don't need your attention.
      Takes too much water.
Has sensor buttons for timing cycles.

      The opposite is semi automatic.
You'll have to rinse and wrong out.
      Step up to check it.
Makes a whole lot of noise especially big kilo weights.
      Less electric bills sha.

      2nd paragraph...
You didn't state if you are single or married.
The number of people who will use it matters.
If single, buy single tube because of space definitely and take your curtains, bedsheets, duvet, pillows and teddy bears to the industrial drycleaner nearby.
It's less noisy though and takes less electric unit but cheaper. Copy that, cheaper 😁

      Twin tube? Exact opposite.
Noisy, takes space, more water, more expensive and takes too much electric current.
Only advantage is you wash plenty at once, for big family.
Single? No business with twin tube.

      Happy selecting🤗👌

      Delete
    3. Buy single tube automatic washing machine. Mine works well and doesn't consume too much light and no too much noise too. It washes, rinses, spins and drains the clothes, they are almost dry and it stops on its own , then I bring out the clothes to spread outside anytime Ii like. I even leave it overnight if the light is stable.
For your duvet and blankets, you can wash one at a time if they are two big. I use the 7kg machine.

Sorry about that, and prepare to get it done ok.

    2. You must follow the normal official process.

Get to the nearest local government area headquarters near you with 2 foolscap sheets. A passport and copy of your current NIN slip(3 photocopies).
      Copy the rules and regulations.

      Pele!🤗

    3. Another option since you don't have money is to go and do affidavit that the date on your BVN is wrong and that the new date that NIN gave you is the correct date. That way, you will be able to carry out banking transaction and open account without issues. When you have money, then go and correct the the NIN and do another affidavit dispel the date on the new account that you want to open.
This was the advice that my account officer gave me when it happened to me.
Another alternative is to open account with all these online banks like Opay, Moniepoint, palmpay, etc

If 1kg of gas is, say, 1300 and the cylinder is 3kg, to fill it up, you need 3kg of gas. Therefore 3kg is 1300 × 3 = 3900.

      If 1kg of gas is 1200, 3kg will be 1200 × 3 = 3600

That would help people around you respond. And also make the response applicable to you. For instance I know that petrol prince in Lagos and Asaba is different, so you see location is important.

    5. For the primary school job, arrange your CV and application letter well, then go to all the big schools in your neighborhood and submit your CVS. Just meet the gateman and tell him that you want to make enquiry, you want to bring your child or children or nieces/nephew (if you are single) to the school. When he directs you to the person's office, tell the person that you need a teaching job, if you have teaching experience, say it.

Don't give your CV to the gateman o and don't tell him about job, it may not reach the appropriate quarters.
That is the trick that works all the time for those I told. I also used it when I used to work as private school teacher.

There won't be any point where the grey hairs stops growing, before you go online and buy all those products from Mamalawo's and Babalawo's in the name of "Grey-hair remover",then further harm yourself.

    3. Sorry for the early graying, we can run away from many things except our genetics.

Taking blackstrap molasses daily has been touted as being able to reverse gray hair, molasses is high in iron and many minerals but it can also makes you have more frequent bowel movements. Eating eggs regularly is also thought to protect the hair from early graying. One herb that has been stated as for sure work to reverse gray is called He Shou Wu (Fo-Ti), you will have to do your own research on this herb, as I have never used it or know anything deep about it.

I am sorry you don't like it but if you are unable to reverse it, nne wear it with pride. If anybody wants to attribute it to old age, just look at the person with pity cos the person doesn't appreciate it. It's up to you and how you wear and carry it.

    5. I heard that rice water helps to darken the hair. Parboil rice and apply the water on your hair and let it stay there until it dries. I tried it once or twice but I stopped because the rice water smelt bad the next day, so I guess one has to be boiling rice everyday - for this Tulumbu economy?

Or alternatively, get original black dye and dye your hair. If you dye your hair with an original dye, it can stay black for weeks.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Solution: Avoid the sun. Stop going under the sun, or use umbrella when entering the sun. The sun darkens the skin.
Your face is darker because it is exposed when you are in the sun and your body is covered hence your body is lighter.

    2. I agree with Anon 17:13 wholeheartedly, the sun is the reason for the darkness on the face. You can wear hijab or niqab for a while too to help protect you from the sun. Also doing tumeric and yogurt face or tumeric and lemon juice mask or washing with tumeric soap. You tube will give you the recipe for the face masks.

    4. Yes, in today's climate with the current diet children develop much younger than before. Periods are starting earlier and breasts are developing earlier. Often, the children are not even ready mentally for these developments and just want to be kids. Please hold your daughter close and talk to her about these changes in her body and develop a relationship where she comes to you first and trust you with anything.

  35. The person that was asking why the hotel she is seeking employment wants to conduct blood tests, this is for you.
Reputable companies normally conduct medical tests for prospective employees before employment. I am not just talking about hotels. Oil companies, banks, schools, almost every sector do this. I was a banker for over 10 years before I left and medical tests were one of the things we had to do.
These tests are to ensure that you are healthy and fit to do the work. The tests will also help protect other employees so that someone doesn't come and infect others with some type of communicable disease. Another important reason is to prepare the company on how to handle you in case of an emergency - eg if the person is asthmatic, has HPB, needs blood transfusion, etc.
So blood tests and medical examinations are normal for employment purposes. BUT NOTE THAT IT MUST BE DONE AT REPUTABLE MEDICAL FACILITIES.

    1. No…this is wrong. They can’t insist on pre employment medical test. Lawyers please advise on this.

    2. Anonymous 01:17 As HR people, we don't only do pre-employment medical tests for employees..We also send consent form or letter to the employee not to share their medical info or test findings to any 3rd parties and we show them their medical results after or we send them to a medical professional nominated by the company to advise them further...

  36. My own question is based on what the Motherhood poster wrote in IHN of yesterday. She said she breastfed her over 2year old baby until the very day she gave birth to her 2nd child. So my question is does this mean that the newborn would not have gotten colostrum from the mother (the first milk produced specifically for newborns) because the mother's breast would still be producing milk for the 2yrs+ child as at then. Or will her body sensing that she just delivered a baby automatically start producing colostrum for the newborn? I have been thinking about this. Is this type of practice proper? Because I feel it is depriving the newborn the very important colostrum.
Doctors and gynecologists in the house please help clarify for us. Thanks.

    1. HERE IS THE PROCESS FROM START TO FINISH for preparing ogi AKA Pap(Akam)

      1) Buy a paint of maize or soo, depending on the quantity you want..
When you get home get a big bucket which can contain the quantity of maize you bought, then pour the maize inside and fill it up with water(allow the water cover the maize completely)....

      2) Assuming you soaked the maize on monday morning, you have to wash the maize on tuesday and wednesday(with sieve and water so it can be faster) then change the water again as you soak the maize in a fresh water again(fill it up too)..

      3) The next day which is the fourth day(that is thursday morning) wash the maize again and grind..

Note:As you are washing it on the last day,its just the maize which you have washed that you are putting in that empty container and also you dont soak it in water again oooo..you just wash well and pour the maize in that container.

      4) After grinding;you now come home, get a sieve(you can ask those people that grind things where you can buy sieve for pap/Akam/ogi,its sold from #500 or more depending on the size you buy) and tie it to a bucket such that the grinded maize can not just fall into the bucket you tied the sieve unto..

      5) After tying the sieve to the bucket, you now pour a reasonable quantity of grinded maize which the bucket can carry on the sieve, and start sieving the maize and be adding water gradually while you keep stirring continously with your hands..
You keep repeating this process until you sieve the pap well and the remnant(we call it chaff) is now left, then you use a small handy sieve to gather the remnant together, squeeze the water out cos it contains some pap and then dispose the remnant in a nearby bucket around you.

Repeat the sieving process until you finish the grinded maize..

      6) When you are done, you allow the sieve pap now settle for like five hours(so the pap can separate now from water down the bucket which you tied your sieve...

After the time elapse you now gradually remove the water and you would see your pap settled at the bottom of your bucket...
You now use those bag(rectangular shape) which they use in putting the pap together(buy it at the market, just ask those people that grind things too) and pour in your pap then after few hours, your pap will stick together and be just the way you buy it at the market..

      Hope this helps.

      @MARTINS

Soak corn 🌽, guinea corn for 3 days, make sure you change the water morning and night so it won't have odour, you can add ginger and cloves before grinding the 3 rd day, after grinding add plenty water and sieve with akamu clothes , allow it to settle till next day and remove the excess water, you can now store in the freezer
