Edo State Gov Obaseki's Wife Betsy Reacts To Being Called Childless By EX Gov Oshiomole

The wife of Edo State Governor, Mrs Betsy Obaseki has reacted to a viral video in which former Edo State Governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole was mocking her about being childless.
While addressing a zoom meeting with over 200 Edo women in the Diaspora, she disclosed that she is yet to have a child because she had miscarriages, painful stillbirths and evacuations of b#bies that died in her womb.
While comforting childless women during the zoom meeting, she encouraged them to see themselves as veritable vessels of fruitfulness, replete and potential proud mother's of progeny who shall arrive in the fullness of time.

    1. Oshiomole committed what Benin people call "otono". Too demeaning. He doesn't really have filter for a man of 79.
      Mr Eric, please change.

They all had baby issues, Obaseki, Ighodalo, Oshiomole, if not what is Oshio doing with 30+ old kids at his age when he had a wife before 30 and before becoming a Christian?

Pray God forgives him because issues of childlessness, hmmmm.

  2. Oh wow, That is so low Oshiomhole. Very low and disheartening. Why use someone’s natural issues that is beyond their control to mock them? Mrs Obaseki, May your womb bring forth abundance of lives that will fill your life and home with joy and laughter, Amen πŸ™.

  4. If your politics is good you never have to stoop low. It is a pity that nobody stood up in the midst and rebuked him and his statement when it was made.

  5. Oshiomhole, shame on you. It’s sadly a character trait of many wicked minds. Always in a rush to call people barren. As if they know what the future holds.

  6. But Mrs. Obaseki started the status shaming by abusing the APC candidate as a wifeless candidate. So, that is less relevant becos it was said to a man? Men don't have feelings I guess. The double standards is gut wrenching, the foolish woman should shut up and stop stirring sentiments without taking full accountability of her part in the shitstorm.

    1. Don’t mind hypocritical Nigerians. Why can the man wifeless when you are not the one contesting.

    2. In your head compare the two and tell us which is lower, wifeless or childless? Any way Nigerians call women without kids childless, and women without husbands..runs girls... all the time!
Those who aint bold enough to say it, think about it all the time and even curse out those who refuse to give birth or marry. That society is as dark as night!

    4. They will just pour emotions into everything, when she was shaming the APC candidate, everyone kept quiet, someone gave her an answer she started with the emotional blackmail. Does she knows what the man that's not married also went through and the reason for him been unmarried?

    5. I understand what it is to be trying to conceive for years and understand her pains because I still trusting God too but she was carried away in political jabs by throwing the first stone,, yes the response from Oshomole was hurtful but she should take responsibility for starting the shading and let sleeping dogs lie instead looking for political pity.

    6. Points made.

That said, Mr. Oshiomole should have responded better: by ignoring her statement after all she is not a candidate in the coming election; or by bringing the man's wife to campaign with him even if once.
Mr. Oshiomole could have argued that his party's candidate need not to be married to be fit to be Governor (which is very very correct).

Like it or not, women concede some superiority or better emotional control to men. So, Mr. Oshiomole should have man up and allowed her unguarded comment slide into nothingness. He should not have replied her like a woman. Even women agree or expect men should not react to them in reciprocal "erratic-ness". Hence they ask the man "you be woman" whenever they see a man do that.

Mr. Oshiomole made a mistake. Big one. But not one out of character - Remember his "go and ..." comment to a hapless petty trading woman whose wares were destroyed during his governorship years?

    7. The woman should stop being on this matter. It has gone beyond her. With her still on it, the matter will become a two same foot shoe in a gift box.

But it speaks volumes of her husband's years in government office and of his tenure in office as State Governor, that she the State's First Lady had space on her campaign speech for what she has not denied she said.

Nothing to campaign with on both sides!

To say someone is wifeless is stating a fact, he doesn't have a wife means he doesn't have a wife.
There are many organizations and places if you don't have a wife, your responsibility is questioned, i don't think it was to be an insult. But even at that, you don't call anyone Barren. It is the height of cruelty for something she has no control for. He should apologize for saying that. The owner of the you are not married didn't say anything, it was Oshio that responded. It is well since the man can't speak for himself.

    1. May be she felt no one as right to say what Oshomole said as response because it is sensitive but does she know how the the man also felt with the insult or what does she want electorate to do with the unnecessary information she spilled too just because she was in their circle and know what is going on in their home.

  22. Na wa for some of you, more like shame on you as may God never put some of you in positions of power. You can't control how the offender offends, but you want to control how the responder responds becos you are emotionally skewed by the response but not the offense. Long hiss. May God anoint you with common sense.
