Blessing Alims, the first female President of the Student Union Government (SUG) of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) made the headline when she reportedly appointed 50 aides. In this post, she explains why..
She says the appointments are necessary for effective governance and to cater for the welfare of over 42,000 students from 20 faculties and over 110 departments. She explains that having a strong and diverse team is crucial for addressing the unique needs of each segment of the student population.
She says the appointments are voluntary and appointees will not be financially compensated..
If the 50 aides she appointed carry out their duties diligently, then, her decision will be well applauded.
ReplyDeleteShe tried, e no easy.
Congratulations to her! 🎉
Carry on beautiful
ReplyDeleteSince she won't be using the union's funds on them, it is good.
ReplyDelete50??That's a lot though...
ReplyDeleteSince she's able to justify their roles and their appointments are voluntary, carry go💪💪
Carry go ooo
ReplyDeleteHello iya Boys
Even class rep is voluntary but gain plenty both financial and inkind. Leave stori. Woman leader
ReplyDeleteThat's a whole lot to carry along though 🙄
ReplyDeleteI could never volunteer in higher education for a rich school. After taking in money from 42,000 students and donations from alumni they cannot pay. Why does it feel like exploitation to me. Maybe I don’t know what is really happening or understand it. Good luck to the volunteers🙄
ReplyDeleteMy school and yeye politics.
ReplyDeleteThose appointed will definitely misuse the post .
Congratulations to her .
