ReplyDeleteYoung women, learn that It is no trophy when a man says “I treated her bad, yet she stayed”, you will just be showing him that you have no standards for what you want in life. When I was younger I thought it was a compliment (partly due to our Nollywood portrayals and even real life of older Nigerian women), but I soon realized that it isn’t so. Men just say that to prime you to take more shit.
I remember one time my husband gave me a gift along with a backhanded insult comment . I ended up putting that gift in the trash because I asked myself if I would insult myself like that and the answer was NO. I will not collect from another person the rubbish I won’t give myself.
No dear, putting it in the trash won’t solve the prblm, he would do it again cos according to him, u have collected the gift cos he doesn’t know that you put it in the ‘trash’, next time you are not comfortable with anything, don’t receive it.
