ReplyDeleteThey should refund at a minimum, 90% of the fees. For those saying how do the visa officials get paid, do you know how many denials they issue everyday? Visa fees is one of the ways the West exploits developing countries; it is one of their strongest sources of revenue. Visa fees is to the West, what petroleum is to Nigeria.

ReplyDeleteI hundred percent agree with her. I’ve always said this is how they take advantage of Africans. While I do understand they need to charge for admin work etc, keeping the total amount is wild. Perhaps, they could charge a flat fee for processing and the balance upon approval of the visa. It’s unfair to not even offer a partial refund after the visa has been denied. Just offer something.. Some people really work hard to get those visa fees. I can’t justify the charges in my head. They can find other means to generate income without using the visa process to take advantage of already disadvantaged Africans. We really just need to get Nigeria right and this convo won’t even be a topic.

They put a lot to process your visa application too na. Moreover that's also a way countries keep their immigration afloat because I don't it is government funded. Some countries refund if there is an administrative error. But over all of they do that then what is the applicants financial commitment?
