    1. Mao,

What would you have them do besides their job?

Please be informed that different rules apply to different sectors according to labour laws which is why an army/military officer will face a court marital instead of a normal court!

It's also the reason the private sector eg Banks will be open for business when the L-Union is on strike except they are picketed.

  4. These are my views about the ongoing nation wide protest. You see, Nigeria is a country of 'anyhow ness' people do things only when convenient or when it has directly affected them.

Do I welcome the protest? Oh yes I did but let's take a look at the ongoing protest with the northern Nigeria in view. I want to ask. If El Rufai or Atiku Abubakar was the President, would the north have mobilized the numbers of people on the street we're seeing today across the northern states? I guess you know what the answer is.

All through Buhari's administration, the north not for once protested, rather they fought against it by creating counter protest. I saw what they did during the EndSars protest. Today, they're championing a revolution cause and the question I want to ask them, are they morally right to do that? Selective justice is no justice but hypocrisy.

If truth must be told, Mr President inherited a collapsed economy and a dead Nigeria. It will be so unfair if you think this is false. But then, that isn't an excuse to continue in the same thread like his predecessor.

Mr President is no magician and shouldn't be expected to fix Nigeria in just two years. Not even Peter Obi would have done that as well in two years but I can tell you what Peter Obi would have done different in which if this administration had done, things wouldn't have degenerated this badly.

Firstly, H.E Peter Obi, will cut the cost of governance to a very low. He wouldn't have approved those SUVs for legislators of over 500 persons @160m each.

Secondly, there was no economic benefit carrying over a thousand Nigerians to Dubai for a summit. Peter Obi wouldn't have done that. At most 50 persons or even less would have accompanied him.

Thirdly, it's insensitive for a government that inherited a collapsed economy attempting to buy a presidential Yacht which if not for the outcry of Nigerians, that would have scaled through. Again Peter Obi won't do that.

Fourthly, the 15billon or was it 10billion for the VP's renovation was a bad decision and shouldn't have been. If such amount is used for renovations, how much then will a new building cost?

Fifth, PDP wasn't a saint party but one thing they held higher over APC was assembling the right and qualified persons for the job of governance. We all saw the likes of Charles Soludo, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iwealla, Dr. Dora Akumyili, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, Hon. Frank Nweke Jnr, etc. These were distinguished personalities and respected individuals that we saw their performance in the Nigerian economy.

APC government was running a reward system over competence. Else the likes of Beta Edu won't have found her way in ministerial position. I don't want to talk about the SSAs doing the government great disservice.

Sixth, losing giants investors in Nigeria was a major blow to the economy. We saw how multinationals and local companies were folding up due to harsh governmental policies and taxation. An impressive government will do all that's possible to woo investors both foreign and local by creating an enabling environment, fine tune business policy and taxation.

Seventh, at this point, subsidy should have been brought back seeing that we can't account of the saved money from it. So it's better we have it back if the aim of its removal didn't yield any positive outcome and If ever it will be removed again, it shouldn't be abruptly done but gradually so that Nigerians will adjust before its commence.

Lastly but not the least, there is no plan by this administration to move from consumption to production. This would have been the icing on the cake if the government had gone into full time agricultural program and subsidize agricultural activities for farmers. By so doing, we will major in exporting our farm produce and other mineral resources.

Until then, Nigeria will keep getting it wrong.

Please remember to add the failure to tackle insecurities throughout the country especially in the states where farmers are not allowed to farm in peace.

  12. @ Teejay 👍. If government can tackle the insecurity head on, then farmers will go back to their farms and the prices of food which is one of the basic needs of the citizen will come down. We're not asking for too much.
