Police Detain ARM Pensions Director Abisola Onigbogi For Allegedly Raping Colleague

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that an Executive Director with ARM Pensions, Abisola Onigbogi, is in its custody over an allegation of rape levelled against him by one of his colleagues, Ogochukwu Odogwu.

Ms Odogwu, 36, who also works at the company as the human resource partner, in a leaked letter personally addressed to an individual identified simply as Opeyemi, recounted how she found herself naked in a hotel with her private area “sore”
As Odogwu bravely shares her ordeal, she calls for justice and the urgent intervention of authorities to hold her alleged assailant accountable.

She wrote
Dear Opeyemi,

My name is Ogochukwu Odogwu (formerly Temitayo-Omotere), and I am 36 years old. I work at ARM Pension as an HR Business Partner. I would like to officially report that I was sexually assaulted—specifically, I was abducted and raped by Abisola Onigbogi, the Executive Director of Technical at ARM Pension, on the night of July 18, 2024, during an office party. Abisola Onigbogi, who works at ARM Pension, No. 5 Mekuwen Road, off Oyinkan Abayomi Drive, Ikoyi, had penetrative s#xual intercourse with me without my consent.

The assault occurred at a hotel where I woke up to find myself, called Limeridge Hotel at Chevron Drive, Lagos.
On the evening of the office party, like every other staff member, I had food and drinks. I mixed a small amount of Jameson whiskey and Coke. The whiskey bottle was opened by Francisca Azie at the table where I was seated with other colleagues. However, being part of the planning committee, I had to stand up from my table at intervals to coordinate the serving of food and, at those times, left my drink, food, and other personal effects in the care of Damilola Oluyori (0708*******5), a colleague and friend.

My last memory of the party was around 7:30-8:00 p.m. However, Dami claimed that I mentioned to her that I was tipsy and could not drive, so she offered to find a way for me to go home. She then approached Abisola Onigbogi to drop me off since he lived around the same area as I do. I live at Femi Okunnu Phase 4 Estate, Jakande Lekki. Along with the Jameson whiskey, which was about ¼ of a plastic cup, I had one cocktail from the bar—that is the last I remembered.
I lost total memory of every conversation and activity. My last memory of the night was from 7:30 p.m., and my entire memory was wiped out, which was very unusual, even for someone who might have drunk excessively, which I didn’t. I have quite a good alcohol tolerance from precedent.

The next thing I knew, I woke up and realized I was in a room, fully undressed. I looked around and realized it was a hotel. I found my clothes in a pile, along with my wig, phone, and handbag. I checked the time, and it was around 3:00 a.m. My private parts were sore, bruised, and painful. I have also formally reported this incident to the Head of HR, who is my boss, with the Managing Director and another Executive Director in copy.

This incident has badly disrupted my life. I am a single mother with two kids, and my mental and physical state has been significantly impacted. I need to take care of and show up for my kids in all of this.

I sent Abisola a message that Friday morning asking why he didn’t ask Dami or any of my other colleagues for my address if he truly intended to drop me at my house, to which he had no response. I did not have any conversation with Abisola Onigbogi or give any consent to be involved with him in any personal way. At the party, he asked me to come sit with him, and I refused, preferring to sit with my colleagues, with whom I was comfortable.

He took me against my will, most likely spiked my drink with the help of someone or by himself, took me to a destination I didn’t know or want to be, and raped me. It is beyond sad that I could not be safe at an office function, and instead, my whole world has been overturned.

I am on very strong medication given to me at Island Maternity, including antibiotics and HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis, and I have requested some time off work to recuperate. I believe he is a serial rapist, and I might not be the first person he has done this to.
I am requesting that the Lagos State government takes this case up fully and that this predator, who has tried to ruin my life and caused me this trauma, be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, along with whoever aided him.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.''

I have a two cents on this but i will wait until the unvestigations are over

  1. This investigation should be easy, check the hotel cctv. I believe her, because Nigerian men once they have money miss with power always believe they can sleep with anyone. Very useless man, how could people not be safe around you? What of if she died in the process? Evil man. No one should ever condone rape, it is heinous crime.

    1. Just Imagine, so the lady should run away because he's working there. Assuming this lady die in the process of taking those drinks maybe they will accuse the MD of that company, not knowing that it was someone else., who knows the type of hard drinks he mixed for her 🙆🙆🙆🙆 . What if other bad boys get the opportunity to see this lady in that hotel all only and helpless, what do you think could have happened to the ladyl?
Ater raping the lady, you still abandoned her in that hotel all only even with the situation on ground. Chai, what kind of wickedness is this. How do people sleep at night after committing a wicked acts.

    2. As much as I don't condone evil, for objectivity and fair trial it's better to wait till end of thorough investigation and find out the truth. If this story becomes reality, they should castrate the man and his accomplices.

    3. The hotel Manager said two somethings significant about this story. The manager asked the questioning reporter to come check the cctv monitor to confirm or contradict one of the two things said by the Manager.

Like Stella, me too go wait for the update on the investigation

  3. What an ordeal. May justice be served. So even at this level. men in high standing are out here drugging and raping women😱

Anyone who would do this to a work colleague at a work event has been doing it their entire life. For most predators marriage is simply a cover over to grant them respectability in the eyes of the public while their base, predatory nature remain undetected. This woman needs to fortify herself in divine protection because she will need it. Nothing a predator hates than to be exposed and they will go to any lengths, ANY, to maintain their image.

    1. I doubt this will ruin his entire life because such cases are rather difficult to prove and evidence can disappear or go underground: take for example the tape of Cassie being assaulted by Sean Combs which he then buried till his cup ran over or the lady who had witnesses among the staff of Dbanj who alleged he 4aped her and without even as much as an alibi, a judge concluded there was nothing there. Others who were shot, even fatally ,
abused and taken advantage of in other ways have no such luck.

Princess is still going through hell because, of all criminals, sexual predators in these climes are very helpful of one another till one person points fingers: look at the comraderie of Epstein's boys who got him off and gave a soft landing till they feared he would talk and then snuffed him out. Even the confidence of his partner tells you these guys band together. Remember the boldness of that rapist doctor's mother when talking to the man's wife. She had been assured.

I doubt the accused was the only one who did this and I doubt that hotel still has videos from that night to show the survivor was in no state to consent. To be roaming around Lagos with the drug that makes this possible, it's not his first rodeo. For this letter to even leak with no one, even the press, protecting the survivor, it's already set in motion for only God to squash.

A procedure will happen, the limited evidence will get him off, his wife and mother will praise their God and he will be out roaming, even more brazen than before, boasting about being backed by his fellows in licentiousness and everyone would just have to be careful till his cup is full.

I really wish it wasn't so but I pray for God to arise speedily concerning the is case and in the meantime, give this woman fortitude and His peace that passes all understanding.

  6. Thank God she is based in Lagos and the Lagos State Government has zero tolerance for sexual abuse if reported. If found guilty, this man will suffer disgrace like that CEO of Optima Care Center. We all should trust no one, the days are evil.

Investigating this should be easy I think, because most hotels and big event places on the island have CCTV.
CCTV footage of how she left the office party and with who. CCTV footage of how she entered the hotel and with who. Also testing of the semen found inside her ( if any) to determine who the rapist(s) is.
I wish her strength and healing.

There are fuzzy parts of her story. Again, no justification for the alleged action.

  17. The hotel they visited must have a CCTV camera. Investigators should check the CCTV camera to confirm if she came in without any sign of intoxication or not. Then we can know if it is a blackmail or not. Since she claimed that her drink was spiked in another venue and was transported to the hotel in an unconscious state

  19. I have worked with my organisation for more than 10yrs. The first 4yrs was with top MGT, especially Expatriate & all these govt big whips. I have always being the one organising MGT meetings & retreats but you see that retreat, I must attend with my husband or else sick leave go show. I deliberately learnt how to protect myself in the event of any misbehaviour. I grew up in a house of boys so I know alot of their tactics. Even when I had to work outside my location, my Bobo na my handbag, if I work late he is my personal security. All the benefits not withstanding, when I had the opportunity, I left that place for another department. My slogan in life is dont put yourself in harms way because of belle, God will always make a way. I feel for her, it is not always easy to recover from rape. May God reward the ewu mpa .

    1. You do what you need to protect yourself. It is sad that women have to live in a world where they have to take so many precautions just to try be safer, even in places where their safety should be assured. There is not one place that a woman is 100% safe from the possibility of sexual harassment or assault and that speaks volumes about the world we have to live in.

Women need to create a device that women can insert and on and forced entry it cuts off the penis. Unless women get vigilant about their protection these events will continue. All the women out their selling pleasure you would think these men would use them instead of resorting to rape. Mtsscchhwww

I experienced this first hand and this taught me to be very careful and objective before supporting rape victims. I'm a woman but the trauma I experienced because it happened very close to home made me change my stance on all these corporate rape allegations. Dig deeper and you'll realise they were dating. She has nothing to lose but his name has been tarnished. All ill say is this: let jarrah deal with the guilty party. You might say karma does not exist but it does.

Cos if it is true, he didn't just start doing such now. Someone in d past may ve cursed him that he would be caught on a monumental shame level. Imagine! A whole ED? Top of a career for crying out loud. And someone who can have most ladies he desires. It is welli o. I hope she finds closure with d truth coming out
