''I am honoured to be invited by the United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres, to serve on the Board of Trustees of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), an autonomous institution established within the framework of the UN for the purpose of enhancing the effectiveness of the Organization in achieving its major objectives.
My invitation to serve on the UNITAR Board is a win for Nigeria, and an acknowledgement of the giant strides made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu towards promoting economic and social development. Particularly, it is a validation of our efforts and achievements in building capacity and bridging the technology skills gap through our initiatives including the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, the largest talent accelerator in the world.I look forward to working with other board members to formulate principles and policies that will govern the activities and operations of the Institute''.
