The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says security agents have received intelligence of a Senator sponsoring the #EndBadGovernanceinNigeria protests against the government. The minister stated this at a press briefing, following a security meeting with heads of security agencies in Abuja, on Thursday.

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command, on Thursday, said hoodlums burnt a police container compartment at the Nyanya checkpoint. The command also said there was an attempt to vandalise the Tipper Garage Police Post at the Nyanya area of the FCT.

An unnamed man in Lagos state on Thursday went naked to protest against bad governance in Nigeria. In a viral video circulating on social media, the man could be seen naked and walking the streets of Ojota, with other protesters and singing “solidarity forever.“

Governor Abba Yusuf has imposed a 24-hour curfew in Kano State following the looting and destruction of public and private properties, as well as the killing and maiming of citizens by thugs and hoodlums who hijacked the #EndBadGovernance protest. The governor addressed reporters on the incident at Government House, Kano, on Thursday.

 The #EndBadGovernance protesters on Thursday invaded former President Muhammadu Buhari’s residence in Daura, Katsina State. They blocked the road linking Mai’adua-Daura and Katsina as they protested against bad governance.

 Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has reacted to the protests which were held across the nation, on Thursday, saying a policeman was murdered. Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday night, Egbetokun said some officers also sustained injuries during the protest while some stations were destroyed.

 The number of arrests made by police operatives in Kano in connection with the destruction of property and looting during the nationwide hardship protest in the state, has risen to 269 suspects. According to the state Police Spokesperson, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the command has successfully apprehended some criminals who used the demonstration as a cover for their malicious activities.
