Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen on Wednesday ordered the withdrawal of the Counter Subversion bill sponsored by him which tends to prescribe harsh punishment for those accused of engaging in activities regarded as subversive. The bill, which also aimed to penalize Nigerians who fail to recite national anthem, generated controversy before it was withdrawn.


 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday evening for a three-day official visit. President Tinubu, who arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Malabo International Airport, was received on arrival by the Prime Minister of the country, Manuela Roka Botey.

 The Kano State government has said those who invaded the State High Court during the nationwide protest carted away some of the documents used in the corruption trial of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje. Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, confirmed this to journalists when he paid a visit to the court for an on-the-spot assessment of the damages.

The House of Representatives Election Tribunal on Wednesday sacked Simon Atigwe, the member representing Igbo-Eze North/Udenu federal constituency. 
The tribunal also declared Dennis Nnamdi Agbo of the Labour Party, LP, the actual winner of the Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal constituency rerun election.

 The Federal Road Safety Corps, Abia State Sector Command, on Wednesday, confirmed a road traffic crash that occurred at Arungwa Village, opposite Arab Contractors Construction Company on Port Harcourt-Enugu Expressway. The confirmation was contained in a statement by Corps Commander, Ngozi Ezeoma.

 A leading Nigerian financial institution, GTBank, has dismissed a report that its website was hacked. A top source clarified that the bank was having a connectivity issue but that it had nothing to do with hacking.

 More lifeless bodies were recovered on Tuesday following a wooden boat that capsized in River Dundaye of Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Sunday. 10 bodies have so far been recovered two days after the incident.

 Gunmen have killed a farm manager and kidnapped three other persons when they raided two farms in Niger State. It was gathered that the farm manager of one of the farms located on the outskirts of Sabon-Wuse community in Tafa Local Government Area, whose name was not immediately given, attempted to confront the gun-welding hoodlums when he was shot to death.
