Anambra State Police Command has launched a manhunt to arrest the suspects who killed one and injured another policeman during an attack on a police checkpoint at Omata Junction, Nnewi-Oba Road, in the Idemili South LG Area of the state. It was gathered that the hoodlums invaded the area on Friday and threw explosive devices on the police operatives at the checkpoint.

Six members of one family have been discovered dead in Obehie, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State. The cause of the death of the family members has not been established officially but a source in the community claimed that the victims may have died from inhaling generator fumes.

. Nineteen bodies have been recovered following Wednesday’s cargo boat accident along the Ezetu community river in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. The ill-fated boat conveying traders, mostly women and their merchandise was said to have left the community on the Atlantic fringe around 3 pm on the fateful day when its engine exploded, caught fire and sank in the middle of the river.
