Today is day 2, how far? Still protesting? One thing i know for sure is that after this protest, the prices of fodd items will go to an all time high, they already started yesterday......I honestly think making this a ten day protest was a very very bad idea......

Let the president say something
ReplyDeleteYou can't sit back and pay pro protesters to protest against the people. The country is falling, encourage, plead, pacify and promise the people. They can't manage the hunger pangs again. 10k can't cook soup for a family of 5 now
I don't think Abacha was this mean. Tinubu is no different from Buhari at this point.
Stella, in other words, people should die in silence while our leaders plunder the national treasury with private yachts and presidential jets??? Once the good policies the protest is demanding is put in place, the cost of food items will come down and everything will find its place. Some changes need to be forced otherwise it will remain business as usual.
Delete@ Stella Nigerians will protest until they resign! I don't understand why a government that was given full 3 weeks to respond to demands; would wait until; things go sour! If it was just reverting fuel pump price to N200; no body would have come out!
DeleteI am not for or against protest; because Buhari was there for 8 years; and the North did nothing! If only this evil government didn't go on to pay thugs and looters to disrupt a peaceful protest! Now Tinubu and all his cabinet will have to resign; because there are gruesome videos in the north, in Kaduna to be precise; where the police shot and killed a peaceful protester; even as the young guy kept shouting, don't shoot me !!! and flyers circulating telling Igbos to leave lagos.
Is it the Igbos , that are protesting? I am from the Niger Delta and at this stage; let everybody go back to their region.
We can have Niger Delta and Biafra Republics; and the other regions can name themselves however they like. My take on this matter.
Enough is enough!!!
Some of these protesters are looters. Breaking into people shops to steal. Destroying cars and all. Is that what a protest is about?
ReplyDelete2 days should have been enough for this. 10 days? That's an overkill. They won't take them seriously.
ReplyDeleteNigerians are not ready, honestly! Until everyone is tired and come out, there won’t be any changes, some people are protesting while some aren’t,we are not even United in our quest for a better government/country! How will the govt take us seriously? Until we get to the point where all states and atleast 80% of the citizens are out and ready,we still Dey joke! After this, government will punish us more!! It’s well with nija o.
ReplyDeleteNa by force to come out? Carry your stupid cross o jare.

In the country where I live price of stuff use to come down when kids are on holiday and Christmas times. But in our country those are the time prices of stuff will go sky high. We as a people hasn't yet recognised the colour of our problem. We blame leaders , are our leaders not part of our bigger society?
ReplyDeleteNo protest in my areas. Everywhere is calm.
ReplyDeleteThere is security almost everywhere.
The protest is still on going in my area, though peaceful,
ReplyDeleteUpdate from Port Harcourt, Rivers State
ReplyDeleteThe protesters almost had a clash with the police. The police operatives in several patrol trucks ran into the protesters and demanded they leave the road and pave the way for them to pass.
The crowd resisted at first but later relented on sensing danger as the armed police operatives alighted from their trucks.
The commissioner of Police who got wind of the near clash immediately arrived at the scene.
Commissioner of Police : I must commend you for being peaceful and conducting yourselves well since yesterday when this protest began. It is your right to protest, but please don’t do anything that will disrupt public peace and don’t infringe on the rights of other citizens.
I have an appeal. Please don’t block the roads. Don’t block the road. If you do so, you will be infringing on the rights of others who are using the roads. I will leave the Deputy Commissioner of Police with you and I assure you that nobody and no officer will intimidate nor harass you as long as you continue to conduct yourselves in a peaceful and orderly manner.
One of the Protesters (On behalf of the crowd ):
Sir, I hope the Deputy Commissioner is peaceful. Since yesterday, we have been protesting peacefully and we went to the Government House where the Governor addressed us.
But please, tell your men not to intimidate us. We are on a peaceful protest against bad government in Nigeria. We want the return of the fuel subsidy. We call on the President to also subsidise electricity.
There is so much hunger, poverty and suffering. The cost of living is too much. President Bola Tinubu must do something or resign from office. We are tired.
Your review yesterday was top notch, same again today. You are so good with your write ups.
