CHRONICLE OF A MARRIED MAN - EVERY FRIDAY

Right from my teenage years, I would bathe well, appy Vaseline or shea butter on my body, apply some on my hair and comb it, then dab talcum powder under my armpits to smell nice.

As I grew older and worked, I upgraded to better cosmetics like nice body creams, roll-ons and perfumes. My best hair cream till date is Softsheen Carson's Magic sportin waves. I love what it does to my hair.

Now, imagine my shock when I met a lady in my single years who said she could not marry a man who pays too much attention to his looks. She said they are usually lazy, gigolos or fxck boys.
This lady wondered why I had a body cream when my mates who were serious with their lives do not even apply anything on their body after bathing, they just bathe and clean their body. The only thing they do is to wear their clothes and comb their hair. They don't have the time to apply cream or perfume. Some do not even have a mirror in their house. They were serious with their lives.
I met her at a job training and thought she was okay. I didn't know her mentality was flawed.
Thank God we were still in talking stage, I just froze the budding friendship. I no want wahala.
I had encountered some men like she described. Some would even take their shirt and trousers to the bathroom, after bathing, they wear everything right there in the bathroom, come out and take a comb, comb their hair as they walk on the road and keep the comb in their pocket when they are done.
I didn't take them serious until that lady gave them trophy that day.
Since then, I started watching out for signs of her in subsequent ladies that I met until I met my wife.
So brothers, are you "serious" or "unserious" with your lives?
