Politician Tonto Dikeh Begs Nigerians Not To Go On Nationwide Protest And Explains Why..

EX Deputy guber candidate Tonto Dikeh on Friday July 19, 2024, sent a memo to Nigerian Youths  and begged that they do not take part in the planned Nationwide protest which will hold from August 1-10...

''Dear Fellow Nigerian Youths,
I completely understand your frustrations and concerns regarding the current state of our nation. I know how disheartening it is to wake up and see that the price of almost everything in the market has increased by over 100%, even without any rise in our earnings. Many people working 9-5 jobs are now seeking alternative sources of income because a significant portion of what we earn is consumed by commuting and transportation costs due to the drastic increase in petrol prices, contributing to the high cost of living.

However, I still believe that the approach of a nationwide protest from August 1-10, 2024, with the tag "End Bad Government in Nigeria 2024," may not be the most effective method at this time. This suggestion is not meant to negate the effectiveness of protests or deprive youths of their civil rights. It is based on concern and experience with the last EndSARS protest, which was hijacked by ill-minded individuals to perpetrate evil at the expense of many youths' lives, ultimately ruining the message and approach.

Instead, I suggest we establish a representative group that can advocate on our behalf. This group could formally communicate with our President, requesting a meeting to voice our concerns and propose actionable solutions. Engaging in meaningful dialogue, advocacy, and community development initiatives can foster unity, progress, and prosperity.
This economic burden affects us all, and it is essential to address these challenges through peaceful and diplomatic channels. Let us unite to build a better Nigeria. I encourage you to consider Better ways to make your voices heard and to work towards creating a brighter future for ourselves and future generations.

Thank you,

Her Excellency, Ambassador King Tonto Dikeh
Ex-Gubernatorial Candidate, Rivers State 2023

    1. The real question is who sent Tonto to do this? Everybody already knows that most celebrities are sellouts, once they settle them, they will sing any song written out for them.

  11. All these ladies think bcos they sleep with all this big politicians and end up calling millions, that their children will not reap their wickedness? Is Tonto even thinking about the future of your son and generations to come at all? Allow people to protest. If blood needs to be shed for change to happen, so be it!!! Afterall the abroad wey all of us run come dey enjoy so, people's blood and tears went for it. You telling people not to protest out of fear is nothing but selfishness and outright wickedness.

  12. Madam Tonto, the masses are hungry and angry, enough is enough. I have never seen a country where their government hate peaceful protest as Nigerian government. The government know what they did that made this country become this miserable, they sure know what they did.
I am not saying that you don't understand how disheartening to see the price of things skyrocket everyday, but believe me you are not feeling it as much as those that can no longer afford basic things of life. Some people can't even afford to Cook a healthy meals for their children anymore, it is so pathetic 😢. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH A PEACEFUL PROTEST.

  13. Frankly speaking I did not finish reading, because, I dont want to know her reasons whatsoever. People are vexing, getting frustrated, people are losing their loved one to crimes and you say they should not protest? Sighs#
To be honest when I look back to 2020, I am also scared of the protest myself. The country is almost in shambles.

  14. It is their constitutional right to protest. You cannot tell ppl in a democracy not to protest. They are protesting for their present state and the hope for a better future. Let them open their mouths and air their grievances in peace.

  15. I found myself praying about the protests this morning... I am worried about it turning violent and mostly achieving little or nothing like the ENDSARS but that talk about it being hijacked we all know who the hijackers and hijackees are🙄

    1. This is exactly what I'm worried about, being hijacked and then in the process lives will be lost. I pray the protest will be peaceful.

  18. I agree with her & lend my voice to what she is saying. Whether na person send am or not, protest will not solve the problem of inflation. There are bad boys & disgruntled elements everywhere, they will hijack the protect & turn it to blood bath. I have leaved in FCT for 15yrs now, I have never seen the kind of hunger & begging that is going on now. Even in city centre thief no dey thief property na food them dey thief. A hungry man they say is an angry man, you go shock say End Sars go be play for where this one be. Instead let us help ourselves & God forbid them shot person who go pay the hospital bill...small fall wey I fall the other day land me for hospital for over 7hrs surgery, like joke more than 5M don go, something wey person no plan...i thank God for life. Before now there is no day I go to the market, you don't have to help someone with either 5K or more. After the protest food go cheap abi na empty belle person go come back house to. If you get money to sponsor Protest, use am help your neighbours make them chop first. Me na beg I dey beg all of una, if anything happen I no even get leg make I take run🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

  22. This is what I think.
This protest is planned to achieve a certain way of doing things which ordinarily it won't have.i think and I feel jùsf maybe some politicians wants this protest to hold so it gives them more power to go ahead and restructure this country which is a win win.the protest will hold and it will be peaceful but the idea is the protest will help restructure this country back to how it was in the old days and speed up the process which ordinary if you had taken it to thr right way most people would have turned it down.someonw is simply being strategic.
The politicians are way smarter than you think though

Ona own na to watch & comment from afar , but u want others to risk their lives for u. Buhari no dey smile but JAGABAN na underground, brutal & maverick politician. Hungry Dey wire ”agboro”, no mean sey dem no dey Oga back & their numbers don increase by 500%, in Lagos alone. All d mayhem & atrocities wey happen during d last election , with video evidence from both local & foreign media, wetin happen , where justice dey? Ur guess is as good as mine. However, trust me, those organizers will be settled b4 August & they’ll call it off for a while, only to come back when d egunje don expire. No be Naija again? We never get liver like SA or Kenyans. 26. Everybody I knew back then, from bankers to physicians, business folks etc came out to protest the Annulment of 1993 June 12 elections in Lagos. We were from different ethnicities. I was a pregnant newly married woman but I was on Ikorodu road which linked Gbagada, Anthony, Ilupeju, Palm-grove Estate etc. All our friends, with good jobs living in those areas all came out peacefully.

That united protest was the beginning of the end of the IBB/Abacha reign of terror. We did not get the desired outcome but IBB was planning allegedly to become a life president so we at least made Lagos (Nigeria’s economic nerve center) impossible for him to govern & he stepped aside for Abacha terror. Most of my friends & neighbors who took part left Nigeria out of frustration between 1998 and 2002. We are here. The children are getting married without really knowing Nigeria which bothers me. They are all 🇺🇸s, except those not fortunate to migrate legally or find green card employer sponsors which was not this difficult back then. It was a massive brain drain, & flight of BRAVE youths who had a history of Student Union Activism in the glory days of less than 20 actively pro United civil rights protest universities in Nigeria. The oldest universities, Ibadan ( UI), Ife, Benin, Lagos, , Nsukka, ABU, etc

The problem with protests in Nigeria is that except Aba Women’s riots, the Ogoni 9/Saro Wiwa, most protests for civil rights are led by the Yorubas & based out of Ibadan (operation wetie in the 60s), Abeokuta ( Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, years earlier with WS mother & Egba Women, Lagos (Tai Solarin, Wole Soyinka, Fela, GaniFawehinmi etc were jailed several times for leading protests). That is why I will never join in abusing WS because he lived in prison & 50 years is enough to fight for a country. Even Mandela calmed down after 27 years in solitary confinement. WA was in jail for at least 4 years of his civil rights career (if you add it all up to the 3 years pro Biafra self determination jail term).

Solution: Hold simultaneous peaceful protests in about 6 cities, Lagos, Abuja, PH, Onitsha, Enugu, Ibadan, Kano??? We used to have a united front as university students against the military. What happened to the youths? Protest in millions. It’s easy to overpower 50,000. Martin Luther King Jr March on Washington was a million man March! There is power in numbers as the law enforcement who are suffering may pull off uniforms & join. Stream live. The White House # is public & I have called twice to complain about policy. They actually pick up & take notes. Google congressional US leaders office numbers, etc. Be strategic.

That way the influence of fifth columnists benefiting from the current & who benefitted from previous administration’s looting is muted & Nigeria begins to de-emphasize the SW as the theater of protests, at least that’s what the fake reps of Yorubas are using to create division while they don’t know tribe or ethnicity when plundering Nigeria’s resources & borrowing to steal. This comment isn’t tribal, I am of Yoruba descent but the hardship I read about is too much. How much money can one send to people to keep subsidizing corruption? 250m people cannot emigrate, globally that the anti immigrants are winning elections & Trump might win & cancel birthright citizenship even of those born to parents with B1/B2, which will affect the political & moneyed elites✌🏾The whisper in Trump Maga land is that if you are/were not here legally & you gave birth, the child is not an 🇺🇸. Yet many support him not knowing that Dems are the reason everyone can travel to the US!

    1. I understand you, but please remove that SW and replace it wit Lagos state. E get why. And it's the same in troubled foreign countries worldwide.

For hundred of years or whenever records officially began, in times of turmoil, man will always target certain places to unleash. Read history and philosophy, study deeply about civil wars, world wars, feudal wars, Read from the victors side as well as the conquered/colonised side. It has ALWAYS been the nature of man to target certain places during turmoil.

When I watched Oppenheimer, I loved how they showed the success of the bomb project, juxtaposing on one side how American scientists and their politicians jubilating at the devastation unleashed as compared to the horror, death, destruction happening on the other side. E get wy them target that part of Japan.
The opportunistic countries, delay in helping out global strife and then present themselves last minute, when its almost over, calling themselves Saviours and Big brother police of the World.

I agree with all the rest,

As for maga, Rome was once the beloved place in the world that was the utopia everyone wanted to run to/associate with, look at them now. Trump dey learn were Genghis Kan dey, but where are they now?
Queen Elizabeth and her ancestors colonised and controlled almost the world wit everyone learning english by fire by force, making that small island a most sought after place. Shey America don displace Imperial Majesty.

      See ehn time will tell.

Sorry to divert from topic, Tontohs sponsors are being opportunistic here, for future gains. She uses her patform to say what every rational and tinkers INSIDE THE conservative part of the BOX person have always been saying.....then whichever way the protest wind blows. So in future dem go say, Tonto said it ooo. Pshcew
