    4. As in … the outfit has confused me… as in I don’t understand

    5. The tailors that sew like the one on the right don't understand "fitting". The one on the left most likely went in for multiple fittings before the dress was finished. They start with cheap material to cut out all the patterns, the person comes in for fitting and the patterns are adjusted before they move on to the main material...

  2. Lol. Corset na your mate?
Something that nearly drove me mad when I opened shop newly, I legit had panic attacks anytime I'm working on a corset dress. Now I simply turn them down or refer them to other tailors.

    2. Miss Aboki that is where money dey o. I'm still fine-tuning my corset skills because you can charge 20k for one corset dress/blouse in this my local area if you know it well, as an upcoming tailor without big shop. This is excluding materials.

    3. @Fatee, you see that 20k you are charging ehn, atleast 8k will go into buying the sewing materials, then you spend time drafting, then cuting fabric and lining, ironing interfacing before the actual sewing. It's not worth the stress abeg.
      That

I probably would never join this corset trend till it fades out.

  3. The one on the right is not that bad. The wearer of the dress does not have fine shape like the one on the left.
People should order dresses worn by people that have the same shape with them.

    2. Yeah, the shape matters πŸ‘

    3. Regardless of the shape, the tailor is supposed to cut the material to achieve something similar to the left. See how high up the pattern for the burst is. The likes of VK J will give you that shape whether you get am or not. Even my Ghanian tailor will do same. They look at the design, look at your body shape, and know how to cut the hips even if you no get am.

It is true that some tailor no sabi sew well and will be claiming fashion designer. However, sometimes too it might be because the customer has a different body type or used a different type of fabric.

  10. Abeg that tailor is wicked, why not just tell the customer that you can't sew the style instead of destroying the material? If I were the owner of the clothe, I will make sure you pay for it.

  16. That was how my former tailor used to spoil every single cloth I gave her but I cut her slacks 'cause she used to be my church member and it meant alot to me supporting my own than outsider.

The day she disrespected my family, was the last my threshold for her ineptitude exhausted. I quietly exited.

Naija subpar tailor full everywhere. She may have resisted the temptation of giving her the exact due to other factor and it could still have emerged a beauty.
