Nigerian Sisters Meet Their End In Brooklyn Beach

On July 5, 2024, Two sisters (18 years old Aisha and 17 years old Zainab Mohammed) who lived in Bronx went to Coney Island Beach in Brooklyn to have fun at the Beach....

Swimming at the Beach is only allowed between 10am to 6pm because that is when lifeguards are available ....
At about 8pm, the two sisters decided to head back into the water for one last swim BUT THAT TURNED FATAL...
Suddenly the sunny day turned dark and a heavy rain began. As the sisters tried to swim out, a strong current pulled them back. Their bodies were found at about 9:15pm where they were pronounced dead at the hospital......

    4. @ Fan , have you heard of spiritual calls! You guys should stop reasoning in the physical! The spiritual controls the physical!!! Is beyond logical reasoning inugo.

    5. 13.31, as harsh as that sounds, it is true. We all should learn from various situations. Stop bringing sentiments into everything. It says that swimming is only allowed at a certain time.
I bet if it was someone else that made the comment Eka did una go keep quiet.
I still don't get why her presence here frustrates you girls.
Abi una dey look for una destiny wey lost?

    6. @anon 15:01 I swear, that spiritual call thing is real. I recall an incident that happened as a child, this is something I'll never forget. I was about 5 or 6 years old and was having series of spiritual attacks as at that time. One day, I was walking down the street with my elder sister and her friend. The street is a busy one and we were walking on the sidewalk as we normally do and my sister became so focused on the gist she was gisting with her friend. Till now, I can't really explain what came over me but I think I fell into a trance or something. I just wasn't conscious of my surroundings anymore, it's like my vision was blurred and the noise on the street became very much distant. Then I began to feel this pull towards the main road. I couldn't resist and started walking slowly towards the center of the road. Because I was walking slowly, I fell behind my sister and her friend. There was a big truck carrying sand that was coming from behind and the driver blared its horn like crazy. But it was useless cause I wasn't even hearing it. My sister heard the sound and noticed that I wasn't with them. She, alongside onlookers shouted for me to leave the road but I couldn't hear them. She had to bravely run back to pull me out of the truck's way. Thank God she didn't push me and take my position like they do in movies. As she pulled me, I came back to my senses and became aware of my surroundings.
Like I said before, I don't really know what happened that day but I believe it was spiritual and God saved me by using my sister.

    1. Hmmmm Big Kelvs, some swimmers don't adhere to rules and regulations, even when you point it out to them, they become rude and mad at you. May their souls rest in peace.

  6. Disobedience to the rules caused this. Very avoidable deaths, two kids at once😭
Not like our own system that doesn't have any structure.
It was clearly stated that swimming is allowed between 10:am and 6:pm because lifeguards are only available at that time but they went back by 8:pm.
Rest in peace to them. May God console and strengthen their loved ones.
    A very sad news indeed.

    1. Even in Nigeria, there are rules and regulations guiding swimming pools and some water bodies in rural areas as well but trust a typical Nigerian to ignore all the rules.

  40. May they rest in peace. If the closing time is 6pm how were they still there by 8? Is someone not supposed to make sure everyone is out?

  41. Open water swimming and pool swimming are two different things. Swimmers overestimate their ability in open water, they easily forget how heavy and powerful water is, every swimmer at a beach is taking a risk in swimming out into the deep. Plus, you swim when lifeguards are on duty.

Young ppl are often impulsive and this is one tragic outcome of youthful exuberance. I wish them peace on the other side and for their loved ones who are in mourning.

  49. May we not be victims of evil. I remember years back that my cousin poured petrol all over herself and lit a match. She nearly died. Was hospitalised for months. Never got back to normal. I asked her why? She said a voice was giving her instructions. She wasn't in control of her senses till she started to burn.
