DeleteA house I worked on sometime in 2022, I heard it has been pulled down twice when cracks where visibly discovered on the body of the building. It was the third time the owner was about pulling it down to rebuild it. This time he got new set of Engineers and builders with the instruction it should be the last time it will be pulled down.
ReplyDeleteThe second time it was brought down and rebuilt, he was assured the crack won't happen again but it did. So he fired his Engineer and got a competent company to handle the job.
The duplex cost over 50million naira each time it's been built. A magnificent building at that. The owner is a multi millionaire and very capable to do and undo. Money wasn't a problem in his quest for pleasure. All he's doing is to avoid the building from collapsing as a result of the visible cracks seen on different part of the building.
So the new company's Engineers he employed for the job did their findings and it happens to be that the land which he built on was sand filled. The initial builders didn't do a good job at the foundation level hence the constant crack. I'm not an Engineer but I know when a foundation is poorly done, the consequences it will leave to the occupants.
So they went into action. You need to see the base and thickness of the foundation level they laid with solid iron casted down. It's over a year and approaching two, no single crack have been seen or detected unlike before in less than eight months cracks are seen almost all part of of the building. Few days ago, I got a call from someone around that area and I enquired about the building. The person told me no issues anymore.
Few minutes later, I sat down and pondered about that building and all the times it was pulled down and built again. A message came to my heart while pondering. You see, most times the struggles, sufferings, pains and stagnation experienced in life has a foundational defect. Its all bore down to the foundation laying. Until you get back to the base and correct things, you might continue pulling down and rebuilding with the same mistake that has got you grounded in life.
Remember, you can't solve a problem with the same level of awareness that created it in the first place.

DeleteI wish we can be more proactive in this "place", we pay little or no attention to signs of mechanical car failures and structural integrity of buildings here.
That's why we experience these kinda news time after another.
Our problem approach is so wrong on so many faucets.

DeleteI'm so sad this evening, thinking about the collapsed school building. Why did God allow such tragedy to befall the children? Why didn't the building collapse at night ,during weekend or holiday ? I just read that a couple that lost their four children couldn't survive the pain and shock. A whole family wiped out just like that.

Brewer’s Yeast is one of the nastiest thing that anyone could ever consume but if you up to the challenge go ahead and take it. Anything is worth it for long life. I am stranded as I type. I am doing Msc outside my state of residence. I go there every weekend. I stay in a hotel Friday- Saturday then return to my base on Sunday. I normal send money to the hotel staff to help me book a room before I come. I sent money to this guy on Wednesday. I came here today with only my feeding money and transport. Only to be told the guy travelled. He did not inform them about the room. His lines are switched off. The hotel is fully booked😭😭😭😭. I have zero balance in my account

DeleteI woke up yesterday to hear the sad news of cousin's demise and the care giver who doubles as my mummy 's care giver was sent packing this morning.
ReplyDeleteI am worried how my old mother will cope. She can barely do anything by herself. Those village people want to have direct access to my money by sending the care giver away and I don't want to deal with them.
I pray my mother survives this coup. I can't get another care giver and they will always frustrate the person
Graduation plans are ongoing in the school where I teach. Workload also increased for teachers as exams are ongoing.

BTW, teaching is stressful as you get to do many things and be many other things at the same time , but I love the experience because I get to do things that I never knew I could do. It has helped me to discover some of my hidden abilities.

She picked an outrageous makeup artist, told her to please find a cheaper one but she said her mind is settled for this one. I'll still have to pay 60k for makeup.
With all these expenses, there's hardly enough money left to get her a tangible gift, I feel bad about it.
I have a perf I haven't used, it's not pricey, got it for 6k.
Can I give it to her as a gift or just play my part as a bridesmaid and vamoose??

Something happened today at a plaza close to my shop. Two women were arguing and about to fight,all of a sudden one of them removed her trouser and pant ,she started shouting and fighting the other woman naked.
ReplyDeleteThe women in the plaza brought wrapper and tied on her waist. it was like a strange being with strong power entered her,no one could hold her,she overpowered all the people that came to hold her ,one man told them to leave her let's watch and see what she wants to do. Immediately they left her,she rushed into the woman's shop she was fight with and started breaking and scattering her goods. She packed some of the goods with her hands and shouted to everybody should clear road,she went straight to her own shop, dropped the goods on the floor,sat down and started crying, She became sober and ashamed of herself. Her neighbours took her out from there because crowd was too much. They also tried to prevent people from making videos.
My babe and I had a serious argument which led to a misunderstanding between us , for two days now we haven't talked .

Just recuperating from a broken arm. Had a terrible domestic accident last week Saturday. Stepped on a wet tiles as result of a water spillage at home. The fall was fatal. My wrist bone broke into two. I was rushed to an orthopaedic hospital. The pain took me to Jupiter twice during the fixing at the theatre. Thank God I did not hit my head on the tiles. I have to carry the pop for 6 weeks! Please, let's be careful at home. Accident can happen anywhere.
