Cooking With Stove....

Is anyone still using this method of cooking....?. Is this method cheaper than Gas method`? I hated food cooked with this method because i hate the smell of stove and kerosine and all... bleh!

    2. I loveddd fixing the thread, Just give me a broomstick and I was done with the 10 Abi 12 holes in mins.
      My mum still has this as backup, just incase something happens and her 2 gas cylinders are empty, and there's also no light to use her electric cooker.

    3. Mummy still uses this stove to now. She is scared of gas after seeing gas explosion news in those days.
      I can't use it again. The smell that fills everywhere after putting the fire off is sickening

    4. My son saw this in a book and was asking me what it was??? We used it growing up o...I didn't have any issues with the smell...I hated the changing of the "owu" so much..

    I don't think it's cheaper, because kerosene is quite expensive too

  4. 🤣🤣 Stella Kerosene is so expensive that it is no longer economical to cook with stove...The only thing that goes up and down na cooking gas....People are now managing gas...

    I hate cooking with stove top... It is slow and smell awful

Kerosene is not cheap again ooo, I have a friend that said she can't use gas or electric cooker because she is very careless, so she uses this particular type of stove to cook, one of the disadvantages of using it is it's very slow when cooking with and sometimes when the wool is not long enough you will have to drag it out before you can on it..

    2. My friend uses charcoal pot back then, also had a stove, despite receiving gas cooker as wedding gift, said she was afraid of gas.

      @Stella, I don't think food cooked with stove has a particular taste, except if the cook is really careless, I know of firewood taste which some people like but i don't.

    I heard 1litre of kerosene is more expensive than 1kg of gas..

    One of my colleague at work is still using it

  8. Sadly, Kerosene is more expensive than gas so I fall back on charcoal pot.

    If you see where I dey fan charcoal ehn, you go pity me, but hey! Tough times don't last, tough people do.

  12. Kerosene is very costly now,majority of people are now cooking with gas.
    We used it last 3 years and we still have it but we parked it one side.

  13. It's more expensive to cook with stove,then before we stopped using it,some of the kerosene smelt badly and to get original burner was also an issue.
    Gas and electric cooker ti take over.

  16. The stones our ancestors used🤭🤭🤭. I think most of us grew up using it. Kerosine though has made it too expensive to use. But aboki indomie still do use it.

  17. No, I don't use it anymore. It has it's own risks as well. Back then, people will mistakenly put fuel inside it or lantern and vooom the fire goes.

  18. Who dash me gas. I use student electric burner. And when there's no light, I make use of charcoal.
    I'm expert in making use of charcoal.

  20. The using of this sef is more costly than gas. One bottle of kerosene is #1500 and it will dry one within seconds

  22. I can't remember the year I used this.

    My daughter went to school last year, and the person she is staying with told her to help her light the stove, cos gas is not allowed in the hostel, and she told her she does not know how to do it, come and see how they were all laughing at her😂. She had to call me to explain how to use the stove o😂

  29. I still have it at home but no longer use it. Very stressful something. The threads are usually fake most of the time.

    Thank God for cooking gas! I had to get 2 cylinders to avoid using this stove completely. It's stressful cooking already, I can't add stove's wahala to it.

  37. The last stove I used, I parcked it and sold to maikwalabe last year. Kerosene is expensive and that annoying smell that comes out when you quench the stove with water.
    We use gas and substitute with charcoal.

  38. This was what our mothers used to to teach us how to cook those days, it's nice but I still prefer gas, as gas is not stressful and the back of your pots won't turn black while using it unlike stove. Thank God for change and improvement.

  39. I don't have this. I use electric cooker, gas cooker and a charcoal stove as backup when there's no gas nor light. Had to learn how to cook with charcoal this year.
