Na Lie!!!!! Not the Igbo man It’s the Igbo women that die in marriages than divorce. If my mum had left that marriage. I bet you she would have been alive today! This is not my own reasoning alone but ALL my siblings believed so. She died because she was in a marriage where she was beaten black and blue and sometimes locked up in the house. We at some point told her to leave that we will be fine but she said she couldn’t bear the shame Where is she now. At the young age of 55yrs she died Now all my siblings are married with 24 grand children scattered all over the world. She would have had the time of her life globetrotting and living the best life Beleive this man and this statement at your own peril. Women be wise. Don’t let men keep boxing u with thier false narrative
There is a Latin maxim that says "Exceptio probat regulam in casibus non exceptis". In English, this simply means that an exception does not disprove the rule.
The peculiarities of your family, does not mean that the general narrative of Igbo men is false.
Times have changed Nnayi. Its a new generation now and people are getting bolder to put themselves and well being first, especially females. Also, the trainings of those days and now differs.
Marriage is a very hard work, and before one leaves, kindly exhaust all options to keep it together. E no easy anywhere.
This one be yarning rubbish up and down, so it is Lagos that is making igbo men to divorce thier wives just listen to yourself it was Lagos that was making you sleep with young young girls in Nollywood too abi.

It still happens now. My uncle wife has shown him shege, five children from different men, bad character and so on, yet this man refused to divorce her. He only got another house for himself and visits them regularly. His siblings are tired of advising him to let go, but he is too scared of what people will say.
