DeleteAround 7:30pm yesterday, my shop neighbour (barber) asked me to keep am eye on his shop while he dashed home to pick something. I told him to lock the shop as I was getting ready to close but he said he won't be staying long and didnt want his customers to think he had closed.
ReplyDeleteFew minutes later, someone came looking for him and I asked him to wait that he would soon be back. The guy waited outside the shop. Then I started packing up and got distracted.
I later saw my neighbour approaching and told him to hurry up as someone was waiting for him. He entered the shop and the guy was gone, he made away with his clippers.
I feel bad, really bad. He cried hot tears. This guy is going through a lot already, 3 kids and a sick wife that's battling with complications from the birth of their last child. This shop is their only source of income which is barely enough. I don't even know how I'm going to face him today.
Happy new month bvs, this incident made me forget it's a new month sef. What a way to start the month.

ReplyDeleteI said we eat should fried yam and egg this morning. You know this old, dry yam is usually very sweet like sugar when fried. I bought two yams for the purpose yesterday.
I cut the first one, half don rotten, cut the second one, more than half don spoil. At the end, I had to go buy 1k plantain from this woman in my street and fried it to make up for the spoilt yam. The thing pain me but the good part that I fried is very sweet. Current eating it as I type.
I won't buy yam again till new one comes out.

Like this, I'm getting old o, 40 be looking at me and smiling, waiting for me to reach there in two years time.
In other news, I don't envy primary school teachers in this period in Nigeria. My kids said they have started teaching them the new anthem 😁.
